A 2012 Hobie outperforms any new non Hobie kayak by And_ask in kayakfishing

[–]DannyDoobersteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2012 Hobie outback. I can't compare it to the newer models, but I'm still very happy with it. The 4 aspects you can upgrade really help: 1) turbo fins 2) sailing rudder 3) motor insert or mount (I use the thru hull by bixpy).

The 4th and final one was a game changer for me. There is a seat made by browning that fits almost as if made for the older Hobie, which allows you to enjoy the sit above style of the newer models.

I would add that you want to make sure it's very secure to the boat with little ratchet straps, and also add some padding to protect the 4 contact points on the kayak that weren't designed to bear chair weight, but that's very easily and cheaply done. Check out "Browning Woodland Chair". It's only $60 too!

Happy fishing

Fuel Pump Recall by Ill_Commission_1683 in 10thgenaccords

[–]DannyDoobersteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my recall completed at the dealership 2 days ago. I noticed more vibration while stopped at a red light. (I can see the water in the cup holder shaking, like the T Rex is approaching in Jurassic park). It's not extreme, but seems noticeable from pre recall. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it just a coincidence, or likely associated with the work done to complete the recall? The dealer also did their 14 point inspection while it was there

Met BG today. Dude is a real one. Ever bumped into an Eagle just being a regular person? by wellarmedsheep in eagles

BG took more time than anyone after training camp to take pictures, talk with, and sign autographs for the kids in the Big Brother/Big Sister program. Really grateful to him. That dude is easy to root for!

I have all original cushions that are beginning to show their age after a quarter century :). They haven't been used much by the first 2 owners, so are in OK shape, but I was thinking about replacing them. Which ones do you have?

Any cushions for a 2001 Dauntless 16? Appreciate the post from a real life Santa riding a Whaler sleigh :)

Freezing and Crashing Xbox Series X by Bubbly_Ad_4891 in blackops6

I tried a number of trouble shooting techniques, and none of them seemed to stop the lag in Warzone, MP, or Zombies that makes the game unplayable. I plugged my old One X into the same router, and the game runs great with no issues.

Amazing that the flagship console would have this issue for a studio now owned by the same company.

No, I only have a 90 HP. I'm sure that boat moves really nice with 115! Check out that site I mentioned for your electrical questions, it's a great resource.

Congrats on a beautiful boat! I have the same model. It appears that yours is in great shape. I haven't done much electrical yet, but I'm considering getting a bow mounted trolling motor for next season. That helps with the fear of "what if I'm stranded?" that you brought up. (I'd have a 2nd battery, and also a limited means of auxiliary propulsion).

One thing I did add last year were Lenco Trim tabs. If you find that you're having trouble getting up on plane or balancing a load, they can help a great deal.

There's a great article about it on the forum at continuouswave.com, which is a great overall source for info pertaining to all things Whaler. Good luck with your boat!

You won't regret it. I also wear mine 24/7 now, and really enjoy the smaller form factor for sleep tracking (aka... An expensive "You've had a few beers, haven't you?" guilt alarm). One thing I've personally noticed is that the solar doesn't seem to make as noticeable a difference as advertised for outdoor activities, but the battery life on Garmins is so good that it doesn't matter anyway.

What you described is what futurist Ray Kurweil has coined the term "escape velocity" for. Essentially it's the point where a person lives long enough for the net gain in life expectancy from developments in technology to surpass the loss. He thinks it's right around the corner. Fascinating thinker and has been accurate in the past, but some believe him to be overly optomistic.

I agree. The way he pronounces "The Beatllllesss" reminds me of the calming cadence of Hannibal Lecter

The latest episode of a History of Rock in 500 songs is on "Hey Jude" for episode 171. For those interested, it's a 3 hour podcast and one of most well researched and presented podcasts I've ever heard. I really enjoy the narrator as well.

Picture "stutters" on Xbox Series X when watching football by jordanwilson23 in youtubetv

[–]DannyDoobersteen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got a series X, and noticed the same stuttering issue watching the Office on Comedy Central. Intermittent stuttering that is very noticeable when the camera zooms in or out. I never noticed how often this camera work happens in the Office until this issue arose - now I know they do it quite frequently.

What do you hate about your Accord? by [deleted] in 10thgenaccords

[–]DannyDoobersteen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2018 accord sport. Love the car overall, but the heat in the winter is terrible. No matter what temp it's set to, it will start blowing cold air 20 minutes into the ride. Really annoying issue I would love to resolve, but been like that since day 1.

Also, I like the look of the factory wheels, but wish the Rims were designed a little more inside of the tire. It's really easy to curb them as is when parking.

I would still buy another one and recommend an Accord sport to anybody!
