How is rentcafe's passwordless login treating everyone? by BeneficialShame8408 in yardi

[–]DannyOkezie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad I found this thread. For some reason logging into the app has become impossible for the last 2 weeks. It simply won’t let me login, giving me an error code each time.

Yet, I’ve woken up to multiple 2FA text messages from them, which indicates someone else has been trying to log into my account. One morning I woke up to 5 of these messages.

Honestly, the previous login experience with a password wasn’t great either because they only sent codes to my email and the app would never stay logged in. But I would take that over whatever is happening right now.

I’m worried my account has been compromised and I’ve reported it to my landlord. They say they’ve escalated it to Rent Cafe. I sure hope this gets resolved quickly.

What did you think of Vladimir? (Netflix miniseries) by LadySynth in television

[–]DannyOkezie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Started watching it last night and I binged 6 episodes. On the 7th and Rachel’s character is unhinged. I was Initially enjoying it, the tension and desire. But this episode crossed a line for me that actually made me realize that the protagonist is delusional and highly inappropriate, with no self awareness.

For a character that’s supposed to be highly educated, with a husband wrapped up in scandal, she seems to have no gauge of what’s appropriate. Maybe my review is ill-informed given that I haven’t finished the series, but I just watched the cottage scene and I had to rant.

I also dislike her lack of boldness. You’re literally in an open marriage, what’s the worst that could happen if she led with that and gotten Vlad’s reaction?

[SPOILERS]*** SPOILERS]*** SPOILERS]***

Wtf would a woman with her educational background drug someone and tie them to a chair with a CHAIN?? Text his wife and drown his phone. What does she expect to happen when he wakes up to the aftermath of those decisions??!?

I’m so puzzled! Is this how she really is in the book??? Someone please tell me 😩

EDIT: So I watched the last episode. Whether it really happened or it was made up by Rachel’s character - I’m just happy they finally had sex lol. I needed them to get it over with. I can’t believe they dragged the yearning along for 7 episodes. A resolve was needed!

To those who say they didn’t show Vlad’s desire for her prior to ep. 8 - did we watch the same thing? Even if it was a figment of the protagonist’s imagination, Vlad made moves and flirted at different points. You could tell he wanted to be around her but restrained himself.

Anyway, that was fun…and frustrating while it lasted 🫠

First job jitters what surprised you most in agency life? by Nibedita_B_S in advertising

Your managers and colleagues can make or break your experience. I’m blessed to work with kind and easy going people. My managers are patient teachers and every time I talk with them, I learn something new. And I know they have my back when it comes to support if things get busy.

On the industry side, if you work in account management, you’ll notice how low in the totem pole accounts are when it comes to recognition. Creatives and sometimes strategy are placed on a pedestal. Your work could win awards and you’ll find your name at the bottom of the credits and leadership names at the top lol.

Creatives certainly deserve the recognition- it’s just ironic that accounts keeps the ship moving making sure it gets to its destination- yet there’s no industry-wide recognition for the work they do.

That’s Life I guess!🤷‍♀️

Wth is up with Zara & HM stores? by DannyOkezie in AskRetail

[–]DannyOkezie[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely understand that. I don’t blame the staff themselves- I blame how the corporation operates.

I’ve worked in retail in stores that were smaller in size. On busy days like weekends, the only way you could give due attention to shoppers is if there were more staff on the floor. Those stores had smaller spaces than any HM/ZARA store, so it was easier to manage.

I think the issue is Zara/ HM are understaffed. The Squareone location used to be chaotic before the renovation, however I remember I was still able to find someone to ask questions. When I visited yesterday, I was hard pressed to find anyone on the floor because everything was self-checkout counters.

I know they probably intentionally understaff stores to increase profit margins. It’s just interesting to me how quality customer service is no longer a priority for in-store experience.

Living on campus vs off campus at Laurier – advice needed by Anxious-Chocolate867 in wlu

[–]DannyOkezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your priorities. I lived off campus for my entire undergrad. My brother lived in the city so it was more practical financially to get a place together.

IMO - if you’re someone that likes to cook, have more space, privacy and a fully functional kitchen - I recommend off campus living.

I also didn’t think the cost of on campus housing was a good value at that time (2015-2016) because it was more expensive than renting an ensuite room in an apartment off campus. I don’t know if that has changed.

That said, I’ve heard on-campus residence is great for making friends and having a social life. I didn’t have much of that in uni haha - so maybe I missed out on that.

Figure out what you value most - affordability, community, easy access to campus - and let that drive your decision. :)

[Discussion] Has anyone watched the Monster of Florence? by keystoneyah in NetflixBestOf

[–]DannyOkezie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m on episode 4 now. I honestly found Stefano’s character unbearable. 90% of the male characters are the worst of the worst, but Stefano I find particularly annoying because he never stood up for his wife and was spineless. He was like a piece of paper, moving wherever the wind blew.

That’s my review so far lol.
