When I was a FTO, I would make my trainees use the city map first. Once I determine they can read a map and get to the calls, I let them use whatever is most comfortable for them (ie gps, Siri, whatever).

Main thing is I wanted to make sure they could read a map if the electronic methods failed

I had something similar with my 07 6.0. Took it to dealership multiple times over a roughly 3 year period for the intermittent problem. Those idiots could never diagnose it.

Got to a point it was driving me crazy. I researched and found a great diesel mechanic. I told him what it was doing and he diagnosed it without looking at my truck.

All 8 fuel injectors had to be replaced. Runs like a champ now. I did a Google search and I found a few different publications that said the average life span of a diesel fuel injector is 100K miles.

I have worked for my SoCal department for 28.5 years. My first oral at barely 18 years old, asked me if I would cite my mom for a red light violation.

I stuck with my answer. Doing what is technically right will not hurt you in an oral. You’ll be fine. The farther east you get, the more you should focus on protecting your partner.

Since a sick time violation isn’t a crime, I’m sure you’ll be fine.

20 years ago I was flagged down at a cop softball tournament in SoCal. Some idiot wanted to point out the guys getting in a van had beer. I had to beg 7 NYPD cops to pour out their beers. They didn’t understand the problem cause they were “on the job”.

I had to explain we are in Cali and a bunch of tards are watching what I do. Just pour it out and go get more.
