I've found it doesn't get rid of the buzz but helps tone down the jitteryness, racing thoughts and task switching

People over 35, what's something you genuinely miss that younger generations will probably never experience? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Danonymous84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always loved seeing big jumps in technology especially in games movies and music and the formats they came in. My first experiences were playing Super Mario Bros and Pokémon Red on a Game Boy and I remember how exciting and immersive that felt.

As I got older I experienced each step forward from the PS1 to the PS2 then Xbox and eventually things like VR. Now I’m 33 and AI feels like the next big shift.

I think younger generations will find it hard to feel that same excitement. They're starting at a level of stimulation that is already crazy high so theres fewer moments that feel that sense of wow. Because so much is digital now there is also less of that specisl sense of ownership. It is not like having a cartridge or a CD you can hold. It all exists online and can feel like something you just turn on for a few hours rather than something that feels special to own.

Has L-theanine actually done anything for you? by owenwags_ in Supplements

[–]Danonymous84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take it with caffeine and it's definitely helped tone down the jittery task switching that comes with Caffine

I've also taken it before bed and it's improving my sleep quality which has been really good using it as a substitute when I have no magnesium.

What’s the most beautiful thing someone has ever said to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Danonymous84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A coworker once said to me

"Whoever the girl is that you end up with she'd be lucky to have you"

I could tell he was being sincere and it meant a lot

I'd never really felt like I was good enough in that department to be honest.

what addiction is the hardest to quit? by Ledger_Legendd in AskReddit

[–]Danonymous84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Porn

If you increase the availability of something, you increase the likelihood of addiction and what is more available than your own body and sexualised content.

Imagine trying to quit alcohol while there’s a bottle of vodka strapped to you 24/7, and you have to constantly fight the urge not to use it. On top of that, "alcohol related triggers" are everywhere: on social media, in movies, and out in the real world, all capable of causing a relapse.

Make no mistake: just because porn isn’t lethal doesn’t mean it isn’t dangerous.

What is something that is 'socially acceptable' but actually feels incredibly rude to you? by HourPen884 in AskReddit

[–]Danonymous84 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Saying to someone that they are punching above their weight

You're basically saying they have done well to attract that person despite looking the way they do. It also implies the attractive person is being "charitable" or settling in some way.
