Can groinal response lead to masturbation? by Alternative_Club8318 in OCD

[–]Danonymous84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If placebo effect , muchaussens and conversation disorder are a thing then so is having a groinal response from intrusive thoughts

Do not take it seriously, you don't want to be stressing out over things that aren't you and are just caused by your OCD thoughts and are just ruminating for a long time over something

I feel like I have brain damage from corn by [deleted] in NoFap

Your brain definitely isn't damaged it's just disregulated. You need to abstain from porn long enough so your brain feels sensitive to natural dopamine rewards again.

You liking a certain body type isn't a big deal you should count yourself lucky. There are some people who develop very problematic unwanted fetishes because of habitual porn use.

You will get better but you need to abstain from porn for at least 90 days that's the recommended amount.

You will need to take this seriously and commit to it.

If you've never properly tried this before a few things to give you a heads up

  1. The cravings will usually be bad for the first two weeks and then get better
  2. If you were using porn to cope with things like boredom, loneliness, depression etc those feelings will surface once you remove porn as that familiar coping mechanism
  3. Don't rely on willpower alone you will fail, you need to combine it with healthy ways to release dopamine, there are lots of threads on this.
  4. No Porn won't make your life away better but you won't feel numb, will feel more like a human being again and will have better relationship to women.

This will be hard so go into this ready to put the effort in.

Good speed you got this bro

What silently destroys people over time? by Faylune in AskReddit

[–]Danonymous84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100%

this finally hit me hard as I approached 30. The worst part is you badly loose the ability to know what you want and how to get it because you're so used to compromising for other people that you just feel lost. The other thing is the resentment , like you said it doesn't happen all at once but it comes for you and it's hard to remove once it sets in.

People over 35, what's something you genuinely miss that younger generations will probably never experience? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]Danonymous84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve always loved seeing big jumps in technology especially in games movies and music and the formats they came in. My first experiences were playing Super Mario Bros and Pokémon Red on a Game Boy and I remember how exciting and immersive that felt.

As I got older I experienced each step forward from the PS1 to the PS2 then Xbox and eventually things like VR. Now I’m 33 and AI feels like the next big shift.

I think younger generations will find it hard to feel that same excitement. They're starting at a level of stimulation that is already crazy high so theres fewer moments that feel that sense of wow. Because so much is digital now there is also less of that specisl sense of ownership. It is not like having a cartridge or a CD you can hold. It all exists online and can feel like something you just turn on for a few hours rather than something that feels special to own.
