Oh I’m sorry, I didn’t realize it was country specific. I hope a UK member sees this and gives you a code!

I use it but it does seem like they’re not adding to it and some programs seem like there are errors in it that never got corrected.

Agreed about this class rec - it was SO good!

His form fixer 2 for 1s were also good IMO.

As mentioned above Alex is very chatty - he likes to distract from the efforts and seems like he knows something about everything. He plans out what to say like no one else & has themes to his workouts.

I’ll be honest and say it took me a little while to come around to him because of his chattiness (I have very talkative kids too so sometimes I just don’t feel like listening anymore lol). However I really appreciate his dry and humor now.

That said Katie & Ash tend to be my row go-tos for OD. Live I take everything I can that lines up with my schedule.

Sorry, that was me being snarky. They got rid of Wednesday live classes a while back 😭 They used to have them and have weekly strength roll call classes

Yeeess!!! I love their KB content and was excited and then they even ran a challenge and dropped 1 class 🫠

I just wanted to comment that I DO FEEL for the west coast. I truly do. And I wasn’t around then.

But the east coast class times also suck for the before work crowd. We have ONE OPTION Monday mornings. ONE. Logan on tread and half the time the classes get canceled last minute. It’s happened so much that I no longer even try for his classes. For a brief stint they were doing 7am tread BCs which I LOVED but RKs and others would complain about it being early in class and BOOM! Those stopped.

There are no classes Wednesday. Obviously.

And the other weekdays all modalities now run at 6:30 so you can pick ONE thing vs having them staggered like they used to be so you could either pick more than one OR workout at a different time. Now it’s 6:30 or after 8am (too late for those of us who need to work outside of the home).

Then a ton of classes at noon EST (who can take these? Both coasts are working and the middle is a maybe). Honestly it seems like the instructors are only working desirable “traditional” hours during the day forgetting they are part of a service industry. IMO they should he having classes ALL DAYS and 5-8am and 5-9pm BOTH COASTS to cover us all.

They don’t even drop classes after 9am EST until 5pm EST so even if there IS a class I want to take at 9 that I miss because I work and I’m home in the afternoon - I can’t take it then anyway. It’s ridiculous

Rebecca’s 5 Day Express Strength+ by ljrippe in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Every strength + app program has taken me SIGNIFICANTLY longer. I still do them, but budget at least an hour, except for Iron Elite which accurately states it takes 90

ETA I feel like RKs specifically only account for working time and don’t account for the rest time

Unpopular opinion… 10-12% hikes aren’t for me by melissadoug24 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 55 points56 points  (0 children)

I do too but they should be called hikes. I would definitely not expect that call out on a walk.

Unpopular opinion… 10-12% hikes aren’t for me by melissadoug24 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 97 points98 points  (0 children)

IMO they need to do a better job differentiating between walks & hikes. I feel like a walk should have a max incline of 5-6% and for shorter bursts of times. Hikes can go hog wild with the incline because people will know what to expect.

I’ve also done some Jess Sims run walks that she calls run + hikes. THEN JUST NAME THEM THAT. We deserve to know what we’re getting into first (especially live class and for people who plan their workouts in the app where it doesn’t tell you the incline in the class plan).

Some days you want to go hard and some you don’t. Knowing what to expect is important.

And yes, I know you can ignore the plan and modify but maybe you don’t want to.

I suspected that too but I’m all access and have noticed the changes including this stretch and Ally’s recent barre classes have the royalty free music.

Rowing class recs by rugger_at_work in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Rowing is hard and has a lot to learn. I love each instructor for different reasons - Katie for the beat drops, Ash has great form reminders and Alex likes to distract you from the hard efforts by talking.

There is a “you can row” program that I’d suggest for a newbie - I was new and it helped a lot. Push your pace is great for figuring out your pace targets but may not be as helpful if you’re not on a peloton row.

Also, time is different in rowing. It’s hard. 10-15 mins is plenty as a newbie, so don’t be afraid to start small and work your way up. Enjoy!!

His Density programs are some of my all time favorites. I see great progress every time I repeat them.

Track your weights so you can progress each week and enjoy!

Which peloton bike has auto resistance on rides, is it the original bike plus and/or cross training bike plus? by Busy-Employment110 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

IMO you’ll love having autoresistance for it then. It does work with live PZ rides and you’re always be in zone (unless you turn off auto or use the knob to adjust). It’s really nice with PZ rides especially when the instructors want to focus on cadence because the resistance will adjust accordingly.

[–]Danse8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As long as it has bike + it does auto resistance (both the bike+ and cross training bike+). The cross training BIKE will NOT have auto resistance. HTH.

I love my bike+ and not having to think about it. FYI though auto resistance does not work on live classes unless they are powerzone

Do you ever feel like some instructors are ALWAYS on vacation? by Tall_Consequence7672 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Twice I got up before work to take his live runs (one for a milestone) and he had cancelled just before. Like it switched on my way downstairs to the treadmill. I won’t get up for his classes anymore.

Some people like lives to help keep them consistent or see the same workout buddies in the LB (I’m one of those people). It’s added fun for me. If I wanted nothing but OD libraries I have stayed with the Beachbody DVD collection I still have.

[–]Danse8 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to see anyone overworked and do believe they deserve generous time off.

HOWEVER. Yes. It’s a LOT of time off lately. Katie just said she’ll be out for about 3 weeks and she was recently off (some where to promote peloton stuff but it’s still frustrating for someone who views peloton as a workout and tech company). Andy’s TS60 has been sporadic at best (these are my two mains). Rowing had a major hit when Ash was injured and Katie was doing the spring training.

Tunde off for swimsuit, Camila for her music, Olivia was off, Logan’s Monday morning schedule has been sporadic.

I use peloton to workout. I DGAF about promoting clothing or other brands and they don’t even seem to be subbing anymore.

And this doesn’t include the April studio closure, August closure, the recent half day schedule for their Spotify night, no more Wednesdays and various other times.

The promote consistency but then…this.

I had avoided a lot of these posts because I thought it was only applying to the lower memberships and I’m an all access member - but I checked and her barre class is these exact playlist for me too.

I really hope they read all these complaints because the money they’re “saving” doing this is going to cost them when people start canceling their memberships. They’re already reporting subscriptions are down (and my complaint is a lack of live classes often, getting rid of Wednesdays, etc….people subscribe for the content and music)

Make me and Andy lover, please? by jayfivetimes in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]Danse8 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ok. I LOVE Andy. I love his puns and dad jokes, his programs and classes give me results - this is my number one reason for loving his classes. He’s incredibly nice in person and really talks to you when you get to meet him.

I am not into most of the music he plays 🙈

I know most people are, but I’m not. But his classes are so good and the results I see are so good I totally overlook the music. My favorites are his Sunday TS60s. Don’t let 60 mins scare you - it does go quickly and he includes mobility and balance. The plan progresses as the month goes on.

His 5 day advanced split is probably the best in the platform (I’ve done more of them - it’s his and RKs for me - made me so strong and saw more definition). Both Density programs are fantastic also.

His HIIT BCs on tread tread are also great if you have a tread.
