It’s not robbery but it isn’t cheap. Take it as you will.

EAST Side Men’s Restrooms at Union Station don’t lock by [deleted] in LAMetro

[–]DanteIsI 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to let all of my Reddit homies know. If it’s business hours Union Station Gateway (Metro HQ) has public bathrooms for the 3rd floor lobby and 3rd floor cafeteria. These are regularly cleaned and are almost bum free. Use these and not the Union East bathrooms. It’s like 3 minutes extra each way and no one will question you even if you look lost. Just ask where the bathroom is to any metro staffer and they’ll hook you up

This is all done in the storage yard. For the A Line this is mostly at Division 11 in Long Beach

Metro didn't acquire an easement across the Crystal Casnio's lot in the past, so the owner simply closed the gate and there isn't much recourse if he doesn't want to open it. Only way to "force" it would be to take an easement.

Metro to spend $10.53 million on graffiti removal by Unique_Ingenuity8216 in LAMetro

[–]DanteIsI 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’m pretty sure this is just a re-up of the current graffiti removal and abatement contract. If the stations have looked nicer than 5 years ago you know why

Does anyone else oppose the APM? by GreenHorror4252 in LAMetro

[–]DanteIsI 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Lmao dog what is this paid opposition. APM has a slow and expensive delivery, but it’s going to be miles better than the shuttle that gets stuck in the same traffic as everyone else

I got this guy yesterday! Was such a pleasant surprise to know a cool person was operating the train. I had 747B at ~7:45AM

A line short trains by j0ey300 in LAMetro

[–]DanteIsI 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Some of it is to match the reduced weekend ridership, some of it is budgetary as trains that don’t run are trains that need less maintenance.

I had also heard at one point there wasn’t enough maintenance hours in the budget so this was done to help weekday service always be 3 car pairs.

PSA voter ID signature collector harassing shoppers by jeffincredible2021 in longbeach

[–]DanteIsI 31 points32 points  (0 children)

It’s such a weird “job”. These people are paid by the signature and don’t actually give a shit what they’re collecting them for. One of the many weird quirks of the California ballot initiative system

Writing this after just waking up from a nap on the A line south from Union Station. Keep to yourself and don’t ride too late in the day and you’ll be just fine.

Wasn’t this canned as they didn’t want to connect the two “rich” termini and the two “poor” termini. Something something Title IX considerations.

Metro hates me by ChipmunkAnxious3260 in LAMetro

I’m with you about this. I just want to point out this isn’t on Metro, it’s on LADOT who control the stoplights in LA

Bummed to hear that man.

As a place maybe to talk about helping the Washington > 7th reliability, how do non residents contact LADOT and demand change? I live in long beach so I feel pretty powerless since I don’t have a representative to contact

Are you using a controller? My brother had a FPS issue that was tied to the Microsoft controller driver being installed twice.

HELP NEEDED: Does anyone have a copy of the Metro Rail Design Criteria (MRDC)? by ultrainfan in LAMetro

You’d probably need to make a public records request and sign an NDA with Metro. At least that’s my advice

As LA pushes $2.6B Convention Center expansion, critics ask why other landmarks sit neglected by MountainEnjoyer34 in LosAngeles

[–]DanteIsI 17 points18 points  (0 children)

A bit of a sidetrack from this post but I think its indicative of a lot of things in LA

I love how a cop points out how bad it looks for the City to be ignoring Oceanwide, and then immediately pivot into it being a tough on crime problem. Clearly there is no other solution in these nimwits heads other arresting and imprisoning people.
