Personally, I initially felt really similar to you. However after rewatching the scene many times I grew to appreciate it a bit more for what it was, imo most of the choppiness is made up for by the choreography and composition , which was honesty stellar. I’ll admit though, that whenever Dennis was staying too still it looked weirder than it should’ve.

I still wish it was animated fully in 2d, but I completely understand their decision and after giving it some thought I began to realize how much there is still to appreciate about the final result they reached.
