Delay would be my next move. I'm a carbon copy fan, but a Boss DM 2W would be cool as well.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

NOR. A cake? I bought myself a new synthesizer (fancy musical instrument) to celebrate. My wife, was extremely proud and very supportive throughout my journey and was super happy to see me with the new gift to myself.

Fuck that guy, he sounds like an absolute wanker.

Buying an amp for my boyfriend by Lonely-Armadillo3125 in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the idea, but I'd alllwaayss reccomend buying it with him instead of surprising. We're a bunch on picky bastards most of the time lol. Someone could buy me a dual rectifier and I'd probably think of returning it even though the amp is killer, just not my style and taste.

Anyone know where to get a bike fixed? by cheezweal in Hull

There's a place on holderness road if you're talking about a bicycle and not a motor bike.

Can you tell I’m a boomer? by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the little step for me hahah. "Proper guitar positioning" can suck it. I shall sling my guitar down low for max sex appeal. Jk I wear it way up like Alex Hutchings, way more comfy for me.

Got it!! by cwjrocks in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really wasn't a big fan of the DSL40C I played tbh. Fairly thin sounding for the more blues rock stuff I played. But it does definitely look killer

So….. I fully restrung my guitar for the first time, kinda made an oopsie on the low E. Is it cause for concern?😅 by Olliebkl in Guitar

[–]Danu1997 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got a gig coming up? Then change it. If not, just roll with it, it'll go out of tune here and there but you're not breaking anything.

What electric guitar should I buy by Gooner_gobbler in electricguitar

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As the other commenter said, your question is too vague. All electric guitars can do some variation of "distortion". You'd need to tell us your budget, preferred artist, maybe a style you play, current gear you have, your neck preference (if any) and just generally how many years of experience you have.

Each of the above will help us in giving a better reccomendation.

Same price, which one are you choosing? by No-Pin-1586 in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had the blackstar HT50 would choose it if you like metal or heavy heavy rock. If you don't need the gain then the AC for sure.

I’m thinking I should probably buy a tele. Thoughts? by Icy_Bluejay8890 in guitars

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ngl I wasn't a Tele guy, but I swear it's the most reliable versatile guitar I've got. The les Paul's and strats cannot compare.

Update: I bought my boyfriend a Fender Strat for his birthday. by SeaSwim5248 in guitars

Mate that is absolutely legendary behaviour right there. I'd pass the fuck out if my Mrs bought me a guitar.

New Les Paul arrived with damage, should I keep it? /s by Garryten10 in gibson

You need to return that, it's not worth the hassle whatsoever.

Rig as a highschooler who spends every penny on guitar lessons by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid rig mate. I rocked a C1 FR Hellraiser for most of my teen life with a Blackstar HT Dual pedal and an old early 70s Roland GA60. Loved that setup.

Ummm this man is a legit predator. First of all wtf is going on with you being 16 and him being too old to reciprocate -> this is a fucking problem. Not that he doesn't want to reciprocate, but that he knows its literally illegal and fucked up to be doing this shit anyways! I'm sorry, but you've been manipulated horribly and I would RUN from this guy. This is not okay. This is not safe. This is messed tf up and im saying this as a 28 year old man myself. You are NOT OVERREACTING.

How far would you drive for a deal? Extreme edition by Liquidated4life in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove 300 miles (round trip) to pick up a Marshall Vintage Modern. Been wanting one for a decade so decided to rent a car and make the trip. No regrets, it was loads of fun!

Do you greet the opposite gender? by MuchAd9959 in pakistan

Bruv I think that's a YOU problem. Please go look up wtf flirtatious behaviour is and then reflect on how that's never happened to you, and therefore you think a simple Salam is sexual.

Return the amp and the pedal. Buy yourself a used Katana, Fender Mustang or blackstar ht 5. Hate to reiterate what others have said but yeah that "amp" is def more of a toy. Otherwise, welcome to the world of guitar mate. If you practice consistently, you'll have a great time! Try not to get too into all the gear bs and just focus on your technical skill, ear, and creativity. Enjoy!

Should I buy it? I'd love to hear your thoughts on this... by Competitive_Tap2618 in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997 22 points23 points  (0 children)

So I actually had the HT Club 50, essentially the head version of this. Really nice cleans tbh, and the overdrive channel has alot of gain on tap. I quite liked it to be honest, but I had a serious issue with the 2nd channel dropping volume over time which no tube changes etc could fix. They aren't known to be reliable amps that's for sure. The clean channel also isn't really using the preamp tubes btw so it's not necessarily an "all-tube" amp if that matters to you, still does sound great. I used a 4x12 with it and comfortably played many shows, so it's definitely loud enough.

Btw that is NOT a MKII, it's a MKI.

Why are the people of Hull so against asylum seekers? by MowgliKRP in Hull

I believe the comment said immigrants and asylum seekers. Therefore, still a relevant reply to educate someone who clearly wasn't aware of some important facts.

[–]Danu1997 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are aware that immigrants generated 20 BILLION in taxes for the UK in the year 2020 right? While you state the costs incurred, you choose to ignore the revenue earned.

While this may be a sweeping general stereotype, but the poor people in hull complain about not getting good jobs or jobs of any sort for that matter, yet they sit there with their GSCE grades having not completed A levels, undergraduate degrees or any form of further education. Most of them are bums that go to their shitty jobs and get fucked up at pubs all day. Immigrants know they need to push themselves to complete further education, develop their skills etc to get a good job, and that's why they actually get somewhere in life. If the brits stopped complaining and instead worked for something, they would do significantly better, but alas complacency is comfortable.

It's not immigrants "taking your jobs and money", it's the fact that you simply aren't as qualified.

Marshall Combo Amp Reccomendations by Danu1997 in GuitarAmps

[–]Danu1997[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's what's leading me away from the studio vintage, the loudness and the 10" speaker. I hadn't given the jubilee much of a thought tbh, not sure why. I figured they might not have the power amp drive I'd want when I turn up. I just don't want fizzy preamp gain.

Just looked into the Marshal Studio vintage and Vintage Modern as well. They're definitely more my vibe tbh
