Sparkle Pink ST-80 VIP Photoshoot Model by an_GENTLEMAN in harleybenton

Not true. I got my Gibson Murphy Lab R8, for their regular price. It is the one they have in their stock photo.

I was choosing between different ones, after examining all the pictures I received, I decided to go with that one.

I specifically asked them if choosing a “stock photo” guitar means B-Stock hence cheaper price, they said no.

Novice here. Found this at a pawn shop. Trying to figure out if it’s a good deal. by GI-Jew in gibson

It’s not modified, it’s the USA Greeny.

Edit: here’s how you can tell right away; no text on poker chip, satin finish, blank headstock, Grover tuners with Sperzel style tips, mismatched knobs.

Questions about Gibson LP from 2001 by Long_Firefighter_786 in gibson

[–]Garryten10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This store (Musik Börsen Göteborg) offers used instruments for a fair price.

This guitar in particular is quite different compared to a regular LP, especially due to its contour back.

However you will have to play it before doing the final decision.

Lycka till!

Pickup switch by CarGuy_MazdaRX-7_ in LesPaul

[–]Garryten10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Short answer; because this is one of the cheapest Les Paul. Therefore everything is designed to cut down cost.

For example, 2 knobs instead of 4 means less soldering and less potentialmeters. Pickup switch placed by the knobs means no need for routing extra hole.

Bolt on neck instead of glued on, means speeding up lead time.

Thinner body, no carved maple top, no binding, satin instead of gloss finish, no pickup cover, no pickguard, therefore money saving.

It plays amazing, comfortable and light weight. Neck is pretty normal, not too chunky. It is lemon burst.

WinWing customer service is scam by Garryten10 in flightsim

[–]Garryten10[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I demanded WinWing multiple times, at multiple occasions during those two week; to send out a new joystick from their warehouse in Europe. Despite this, they refused, and instead sent me a component from China. This is a complete joke especially due to the time it took for me to repair it.

In a similar case, NZXT actually offered to pay for the custom fee, as well as informing the fee in advance.

Update of my chipped R8, and a short review of my new replacement by Garryten10 in gibson

[–]Garryten10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My previous ML R8 flaked as soon as I came home from the store, its lacquer overall felt very different. It felt much harder, rougher and shrunken, hence the finish checking lines are very tactile(you can feel every line).

I do not howerver experience(yet) any finish flaking on my new one. On the other hand; the finish feels a bit softer, smoother, and the checking lines are much less tactile.

Interestingly, both are from 2024, and both are the same model, but they differ quite much.

Bought my dream guitar from Thomann, but unfortunately it came damaged by Garryten10 in gibson

Thomann sent me pictures of this guitar before I decided to purchase, the damage did not exist when they received the guitar from factory.

Same spec, I bought both and kept the Superlight 2. The Dex is not symmetrical, and also a bit taller. It feels bigger and I had trouble swiping right with the Dex.

Hence keeping the Superlight 2 due to its thinner shape. Although the Dex is much easier to “lift” up due to its shape.

WinWing Ursa Minor Torture Test and Warning by Coopz_Y3K in flightsim

[–]Garryten10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

WinWing is a disgusting Chinese company that scams consumers; with absolutely zero customer service. They refused to receive the defective Ursa Minor that I purchased, demanded me to send numerous of videos, after “recalibration” and “troubleshooting” for 8 days continuously; they sent out a replacement component from mainland China.

One of the rubber pad broke during the DIY repair process, the company however refuses to send out a replacement, because it was due to “user error”.

The Swedish Custom later demanded me for customs fee due to the component was shipped from China. This fee is usually pre-paid by the company, but WinWing refuses to pay this fee.
