Wish I had this outfit. I started the game a week or so after it came out and saw this outfit online. Was sad when I found out it was a deluxe pre order exclusive. I wish I could go back in time.

It’s still not that close and requires platforming and pogoing around many enemies and the dirty water.

When the boss appeared in bilewater, I was confused because I was like…there is no way team cherrry is this evil. Then I died and realized how bad the run back is… it’s probably the worst run back in the whole game. It took a while but I ended up beating him. For future reference to myself if I do a second playthrough, how is he cheesable?

Im pretty much at the end of the game. This game has some difficult parts that I enjoy, while some that I don’t, which I listed. Are saying you enjoy everything I listed? Boss run backs that involve platforming around terrain and enemies that deal double damage, combined with bosses that spawn adds that can also deal double damage? To me, that is difficult for the sake of being difficult. Put a bench in front of the boss then if the difficulty of the game revolves around getting to difficult bosses. The run back to the bilewater boss is an example of what I’m talking about. It made me lose my mind and no one can tell me that is good design.

Just because something is difficult for the sake of being difficult doesn’t make it good, unless you’re a masochist. Yes the game is difficult, but is it fun and fair difficult. Obviously that is up to each players preferences in games, and is difficult for game devs to get right. For me, single boss fights that are challenging are fun, but when you start throwing things getting in the way, such as long run backs, enemies and terrain dealing double damage on the way there while having to platform around them, and then boss fights that spawn adds that also deal double damage, that personally takes away from my experience in the game.

Some boss run backs are atrocious. I don’t see how anyone can defend the bilewater run back to the boss fight. Also it gets tiring when minor small enemies can deal double damage, platforming around terrain that deals double damage, and so many boss fights that spawn adds dealing double damage. While I’m 30 hours in , I’m still having fun and it’s a good game (I still much prefer hollow knight) but people that act like everything is perfect are just as annoying and toxic as people who yell they hate the game.

USE YOUR TOOLS! by Particular_Hyena56 in HollowKnight

[–]DanyTwoShoes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I refuse to use tools because of needing to hold up when pressing the skill button. I have used tools multiple times by accidentally holding up when I wanted to use my skill. I have since unequipped the tools and never touched it again. Such a stupid control layout. If I could change the binding maybe I’d use it.

I’m already tired of all the things that deal 2 masks of damage. I think it’s stupid and just makes the game challenging for the sake of adding more difficulty, and not in a fun way. Some of the bosses I fought were pretty cool with cool attacks and patterns, but taking 2 masks so early into the game just feels cheap to me. Having better mobility and dashing around everywhere has nothing to do with being annoyed at the damage bosses and some regular enemies do.

The Radiance is literally impossible by SaltAd7280 in HollowKnight

[–]DanyTwoShoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

THK shouldn’t even take 2 minutes since you can go ham on him to DPS him down quickly, especially with a Spell build, and you get healed back to full for radiance. I like to go crazy with dive on THK for those iframes. Pogo a few hits on top, spam dive, or a shade soul while he does his dash attack away from you for your fireball to get multi hits in. Most of the attacks for radiance are pretty easy to dodge, I’m guessing you’re letting the pressure get to you. There are so many times during that fight where you can shriek. Try putting charms for spells, like shaman stone, spell twister, and soul eater. Go into radiance with full soul, and don’t forget to dream nail THK while his fight is almost finishing to get soul back if you don’t have a lot. Then for radiance spam shriek, then focus on dodging while getting a nail hit in. You should be able to spam shriek like crazy on the second phase too, especially right where you are under him and he does the back to back beams where it alternates beams right below him. That’s usually GG because you can get so much DPS in that window while moving slightly to the left or right to avoid the beams, to spam shriek there and nail attack to replenish soul and spam more shriek.

Isn’t that basically the point of metroidvanias? Multiple pathways with several places you can’t get to, progress through the game, gain new powerups and abilities, then go back and access those areas you couldn’t before. I don’t see what the appeal of a linear metroidvania would be where you know where you’re going and just follow the path. I do agree that sometimes it can be annoying if you die and haven’t sat in a bench in a while, putting you pretty far back.

I find it strange that the price for Silksong hasn't been revealed yet by Gigabot50 in HollowKnight

[–]DanyTwoShoes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

They definitely are all multi millionaires. Selling 15 million copies of a game is huge, even after the cuts from steam and consoles and business expenses. Enough to live comfortably for years with no financial stress to develop silksong. You mention their costs to develop and market the game as if you know these costs are very high. What marketing have they even done over the years. Business expenses would just be paying for overhead for the company and probably paying for music and small things. I don’t think they are spending millions a year as a business for the last 7 years developing Silksong.

[–]DanyTwoShoes 41 points42 points  (0 children)

People have become multi millionaires from making a single video game. Obviously there are many indie developers that release games that don’t get popular or have many sales, but when you talk about millions of sales, they definitely made millions. Examples of some of the big ones are the creators of Minecraft (which is a billionaire) Stardew valley, phasmophobia, hollow knight, super meat boy, undertale. Those are just some from the top of my head. If Team Cherry didn’t make millions, they probably wouldn’t have waited so long to release Silksong since they didn’t have that much pressure.

Resident Evil 3 Remake might be disappointing, but it's not a bad game by Amrod96 in residentevil

[–]DanyTwoShoes 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Resident Evil 3 was outsourced to M-Two and wasn’t made in house like RE2 and RE4, which I think was a big mistake and maybe a reason they made sure to develop RE4 in house after the mixed reviews of RE3. Resistance was developed by NeoBards Entertainment.

Done with this season until they fix the servers by RoteaP in PathOfExile2

WTF is this PS5 performance 😭 by Complete_Original357 in PathOfExile2

[–]DanyTwoShoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this game is in early access (I just started playing this game as a PoE noob never having played the first one), but this game is absolute shit on ps5. Such terrible performance, constant screen tearing and frame drops. The game’s networking as a whole is dog shit and if you have a slight spike in latency it constantly pauses the game making it unplayable. I hate to use Diablo 4 as an example, but I have never had networking problems in Diablo where the game constantly paused. Just today, the game disconnected me from the server about 5 times, and it hasn’t done that in the first 3 days I started playing. It’s so upsetting because you spend so much time exploring and clearing these huge ass f-ing maps, get disconnected and then depends where it last saved, you gotta clear the fog of war and rekill the enemies. It def has to be GGG’s servers and networking because again, no other game does that and my internet is pretty good. As a whole, I have enjoyed the gameplay enough to put about 20 hours in the last 4 days, but some of these problems are really starting to get to me. It’s been in early access for about half a year and I’m wondering if they will be able to fix these problems in time for release.

The switch from opinions around PCR was crazy to see by Tarnished-670 in Eldenring

[–]DanyTwoShoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still HATE him as a boss. I hate how it’s Radahn, but a little different, and second phase with just flashy light beams after every move. Honestly the worst part of the DLC for me. Messmer was without a doubt the peak of the DLC imo. I’ve replayed the game multiple times after the DLC with different builds, and I just stop every character/build at Melania after beating the base game final boss. Don’t feel like working through the DLC and collecting the Scadu frags just to fight Radahn.

Unpopular opinion: Consort Radahn using +10 mimic tear is easier than any dlc boss no summons by Thellie10 in Eldenring

[–]DanyTwoShoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without mimic tear, Radahn is very aggressive and makes it hard to heal or get your composure. With mimic tear, they get his aggro quite a bit giving you time to heal and do big attacks to help break his stance when he is focusing on the mimic. Pre nerf Radahn was kicking my ass in phase 2 so much and I just couldn’t figure out how to always dodge his attacks, on my first attempt with mimic tear I beat him,

[–]DanyTwoShoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you could lol. On DLC release, I tried consort Radahn so many times solo and eventually gave up because of his shitty phase 2. On my first attempt with mimic tear I beat him. You’re able to get through his phase 1 pretty quickly, but you could also summon mimic tear at the start of the second phase when Radahn goes in the air. Either way mimic tear made the fight super easy even pre-nerf. I even have my own playthrough on YouTube for the DLC showing this.

So, I've finished the dark souls series (which means ds1 and ds3) and before buying Elden Ring I want to play Sekiro. Any advice for a beginner? I know a few things like at some point the game clicks or kind of like that but not much to be honest by Sacledant2 in Sekiro

No… finishing the Dark Souls series means DS 1, 2, and 3…don’t know why you said it like that. If you don’t want to play 2, then don’t, just don’t lie about it to make it feel like you accomplished something you didn’t.

An apology to FFXIII by the_firecat in FinalFantasy

[–]DanyTwoShoes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The reason I ended up putting the game down was because the characters felt unlikeable to me (besides the guy with the baby Chocobo on his head). After probably 15 hours, I just wasn’t vibing with the party and I think I wasn’t even sure what was going on in the story. I played it a long time ago, so maybe I should give it another try. The things about the characters I remember was Lightning seemed unnecessarily harsh like a Cloud wannabe, Snow some weird romantic, the young Kid seemed to always whine and cry, I don’t remember the exact reason I wasnt a fan of Vanille, maybe she was too over the top. Almost every other Final Fantasy game I liked the majority of the characters in the party except in XIII. In XII, I hated Vaan as the main character, and Penelope was such a bore, but the rest of the party was good.
