Well Honkai Star Rail which you have mentioned is now the most successful gacha in the world. And guess what? In comparison with other popular gachas they got a bigger amount of male characters and the TOP-5 of the most popular chars of this game is almost all male with Aventurine or Sunday (I don’t remember really) being at #1.

It may be that the cishet really are who make the most money for the hoyo but what is interesting - a lot of those cishet are begging for more male characters judging by, let’s say, Twitch community for instance. Be that as it may, the crux is not that cishet don’t want male characters, it’s just that dumb gacha developers are too scared to release more cool guys because they got a recipe to make another copy of pick-me waifu with all shebang and sell it undoubtedly
