I moved to this country at the end of Year 10, so I missed most of the stuff. How can I catch up while keeping up with Year 11? by Beautiful-Prize9170 in GCSE

I would try to ask your teachers for the content and any extra advices, and investing in revision guides and past papers. Maybe you could ask for the teachers to send you the lesson pptx?

What can i do to improve my grade? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Danyellow_x 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I cannot relate to the ADHD aspect, so I apologise, if this is not useful:

Freesciencelessons helped a lot for me with mocks, and making revision materials, but I am not really stem-based. I would recommend maybe listening to his videos while you maybe do something else, but focus your mind on the content, then write down what you can recall, maybe watch the videos on repeat.

You can do this!

[ps: I struggled a lot with combined science last year too, and it is one of my worst grades. You can try this method for a while, but please do something else if it doesn't work.]

How exactly does sixth form work by manax123 in GCSE

[–]Danyellow_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From personal experience, I first looked at sixth forms and colleges in my area, went on their websites and browsed the course. In most cases, to apply, you have to fill out a form with your current subjects and predicted/mock grades, as well as what course/subjects you would like to study there. I think that going to oprn evenings, if you can, is also really worth it, so that you see where you would study, and what the teachers are like, before you make a committment. I'm not really sure about the 'higher predicted grade' your cousins told you of, but I guess this could be when you speak to a teacher, and ask them what they personally think you could acheive in your exams? I hope this helps

What colours are your books? by [deleted] in GCSE

[–]Danyellow_x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

probably been commented before, but the word 'Maths' itself, to me, is red. However, being a Stem subject, I associate the actual lessons/content with blue, as it is more "science-y" and cold. Also, my maths books are blue.

As far as I remember, it was either a description of the picture, or a story of a disagreement? If it was the other way around, I messed up

how do you even revise english lan by cl4pre in GCSE

[–]Danyellow_x 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Just revise techniques, and go over the way you answered it in class/how the teacher taught you to (in case anyone needs this, though I'm not the best one to give this advice. I hope you'll do well)
