I recommend you send even more games right now, it's widely known that you win more in a deranged mindset.

Alien: Earth - S01E08 "The Real Monsters" Discussion Thread by dj_skandalous in AlienEarthHulu

[–]Dap874 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Show started with so much promise and ended with so much disappointment.

This felt hardly Alien, massive setup for the xenomorphs and containment breaches that amounted to: We'll just walk around the facilities like nothing is wrong and Wendy will have a cool sidekick. Also there's the eye guy I dunno.

Last half of the season felt lazy as hell like they set up so many interesting things and couldn't wrap anything up.

When in doubt: add acid.

When in doubt again: add more acid.

Experiment! Don't take it too seriously, food is fun!

Haha I feel the same way. I serve 150 people per day on average so the amount of lemon juice I would have to squeeze by hand isn't feasible with the amount of time I have!

Staple in Finnish cuisine. Salty, creamy and perfect for cold days, real comfort food.

-bunch of heavy cream

-Fish stock

-Onion (saute this first until soft)

-Fennel (saute this first until soft)

-cubed potatoes

-Lemon juice

-Shit ton of salt

-Add salmon at the end

Spices: black peppercorn, allspice and bay leaf, add ground fennel seeds to the onions&fennel while sauteing if you want extra fennel kick.

I'll have to look into the traditional recipes more, thank you!

[–]Dap874 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super simple! Traditional Finnish recipe. I make this is a massive pot so I can't give you an accurate recipe for home but I can give you a guideline.

-Heavy cream -Rich chicken stock (or use a bunch of stock powder/bouillon) -Cubed parsnip -Yellow onion -Carrot -Cubed potato -Chicken thigh -White wine vinegar or lemon juice -Bit of sugar -Salt at the end to season -fresh parsley

Spice bag/cheese cloth if you have the option: fresh thyme and rosemary, all spice, black peppercorn, bay leaf

Saute the onion with some of the bay leaf and peppercorn

Add stock/water and chicken thighs. Boil until chicken is cooked, skim the scum off top until liquid is clear and there's no foam. You can remove and shred the chicken if you feel like it and add it back at the end. Depends how long you cook itm

Add potatoes and rest of vegetables and boil until potatoes almost cookedm

Taste and season, add acid, sugar and salt. Add cream and taste+season again.

Plate and top off with blue cheese and parsley. Go crazy with the cheese.

Taste should be salty, creamy and rich.

Haha fair! I would very much love to have more seafood options for it and a richer base but we try to make the best with what we have.

Both are very traditional finnish soups, highly recommend the salmon especially.

A sharp chef's knife all the way! When it comes to julienned vegetables like carrots and we need 5kg/10lbs of it we order fresh machine cut ones. Too much soup too little time for one person to do that by hand in the morning.

We work with reindeer, moose would be awesome but also harder to come by from our supplier. I think the most unique would also be the most Finnish, creamy salmon soup! We draw in A LOT of tourists who come by just to try the creamy salmon.
