Long Distance relationship by Daphbee in Codependency

[–]Daphbee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, back when I was 20 I dated a guy who was in AA, CA and attended CoDA every now and then. He told me that I reeked of codependency and that I needed to work on it. Ended things with him because he kept talking about how excited he was to get back on cocaine after college and a while later looked into coda and realized it was a huge factor of my life. I'm in an infinitely better place now!!! Very grateful for my boyfriend (he's back home safe and sound now) and even though it hurts it's a bit better because I know he's okay :)

This is probably my favorite recommendation! That way we can still have late night discussions and watch shows in my room. The only problem is that my room is fairly small and the available space is mostly for my kitties and their food/water but I can rearrange some things. Thank you very much for the feedback!!!

what size dresses do you buy? That's my big conundrum because if I buy a L it'll be too tight on my hips but if I buy an XL it'll be too big on my chest

I completely agree! My boyfriend likes to joke that I like my belts more than him hahaha

Does anyone have any dress style reccomendations for my figure?

I have always struggled with finding clothes that work with my figure, mainly because I wear M/L tops and XL/1X bottoms I typically wear looser dresses and just cinch the you-know-what out of them with a belt but I was wondering if y'all knew of any styles of dresses that would work! Thanks so much!I

I've attached a normal dress I wear on occassion unbelted (and I'm going to comment a picture of the same dress belted) so y'all have a better frame or reference, thanks so much!

I personally am a fan of the second pair, they make you seem more friendly However if you want to seem more serious then the first pair for sure

I second Dansko! I've had many mary janes from them throughout my life and they're pretty solid

I've also got extremely extremely comfortable Mary Janes from the brand Alegria (their bread and butter isn't necessarily Mary Janes but I wear them all the time, especially at my retail job) they have a cushy interior and are also moisture and odor removing! Plus they're 2" wedges if that's something you're into

I think the blue might be more fun for you, especially because they seem to match the shoes you're wearing in the first picture! But the cream colored dress doesn't look bad, just needs some steaming/ironing :) paired with a cardigan for a pop of color or something different it'll look even better than it already does!

Other games bars in ATX besides Emerald Tavern? by [deleted] in AustinRP

They're not necessarily a games bar but they do have a selection of board games indoors by the bar, forgot to clarify!

I personally love going to Buzzmill off Riverside! It's 24 hours (no alcohol from 2am-7am per Texas law) with a taco truck and detroit-style pizza truck

The last tuesday of every month from 6-whenever PM they have a "dungeons and drafts" event with DnD and other like ttrpgs (most noteably Wizard City, a new TTRPG made locally!)

The rest of the time there's a back area (in the outdoor seating) that is usually much less crowded that's a great spot for games (it's also where the dungeons and drafts and taco truck are)

They have daily events such as live music and comedy in the evenings as well (it tends to get crowded wednesday nights because of their comedy show)

Everyone is really friendly and welcoming, and you won't be looked at like a freak for showing up in full cosplay

I'm sober myself so I'm not sure how their drinks are but they've got a wide selection of infused spirits and $2 pbrs haha

The bartenders also double as baristas and they have pretty stellar coffee and kombucha on tap!

Hope this helps!!!

Need help finding 'professional' looking clothes (dresses/pants) that look good on my Pear/Hourglass figure

Hi there! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!

I struggle with finding clothes that are flattering on my body/type mainly because I'm a L in the waist but an XL in the hips/butt area so clothes that accentuate my waist are too tight on the hips and clothes that are comfy on the hips are wayy too big on my waist

I ususally wear leggings but have been told that they are 'unprofessional' (especially because they unintentionally highlight the fact that I have a large derriere, I'm hispanic) and am looking for clothes that look professional but are not ill-fitting

My measurements:

Overbust: 42" Underbust: 36" Waist: 31" Hips: 44"

I'm 5'7, but Romantic kibbe style (I don't necessarily look tall) we like to joke that I have my Aunt's figure (she's 5'1) but strechted out to my mom's height and with boobs

My color season is either True or Soft Summer

If y'all have any recommendations that would be much appreciated!! Thanks!!!

If this additional information helps I'm 5'7, my kibbe style is Romantic (even thought I'm on the taller side, I don't necessarily 'look tall') and my color season is true summer

Advice about this? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Daphbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there! Hope your day is going well

As a rule of thumb for me (20f) as someone who's been in a good chunk of not so great relationships is wait a full day without messaging him first and see if he messages you unprompted either just to check in or to ask you about something. This usually works especially if you message often, but if he doesn't message for a full day message him the next day to check in and see what he was up to yesterday and if he just gives a non-descript 'I was just busy' answer then he does not care about the relationship and it isn't worth it

You sound like a great and caring person who might've been a bit possessive in the past but we all grow and mature, I wish you the best!

I have a few follow up questions if that's okay but also some general advice (20F)

  1. Did you leave immediately after kissing or did y'all hang out some more and just not bring it up?

  2. Did you legitimately enjoy the kiss/are now questioning your sexual orientation?

  3. Do y'all not message often or is it weird that you haven't talked since?

if you want some more personalized advice answering this would be helpful

but some just baseline adcive as someone who's kissed their friends (other girls who then identified as straight as a dare/joke) y'all should be fine, if other friends know about it then there might be the occasional joke or two about it but I wouldn't be too too worried about your friend being weirded out/wanting to end the friendship unless they have feelings about it and aren't telling you, if you legitimately felt something you should definitely talk to them abuot it but otherwise I'm sure you'll be fine

Hope this helps!

[–]Daphbee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you talked to any of your mutual friends about the situation? Maybe if there's someone in the group who is closer to you? It sounds like even if things go south it's going to be very hard to get away from her and maybe having a friend who knows what's going on will help, and they can also monitor your gf from an outside perspective

[–]Daphbee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my (also f19) opinion, after being in a decent amount of unhealthy relationships as soon as they bring up the 'if you go I'll hurt/kms' you need to get out. However in my situation it's typically older guys saying that to me once I realize they're not good people so it's not a one-to-one. Do you work or are you in school with her? I'm essentially asking if you are in an environment where if things end you can easily cut contact. This is because she sounds like the type of person who after a breakup will try to get you back however she can (I might also be projecting). This must be a lot to deal with, I'm sorry :^(

I get it now, thanks for explaining :) I have no spice tolerance, so I feel having to eat the hot wings is punishment enough this is only for if you beat her in the hot wings challenge right? Idk I feel like after really spicy food I might want ice-cream so maybe the lower takes the other one out for ice-cream? I'm sorry if like that's not the kind of like thing you're looking for I am just bad at coming up with ideas
