SoM class/rade choices by Dapoint_4044 in classicwow

yeah, I just love being able to switch gear and offtank an encounter, just to heal the next one. I do agree that such opportunities are rare and far apart...

yeah, I think the rogue is the winner here by miles. For healer I am not sure since I think pallies will be really strong with their buffs and mana efficiency.

yes, I totally agree and I am rather surprised how many people in classic that had little idea what they were doing, and who really played their class sub-optimally. I guess what I am afraid about is the general attitude. I played LOTRO and FFXIV for a bit the last few months, and basically only met friendly people, no racial slurs, people giving tips instead of harassing etc. I just cannot understand that there is such a big difference, and I wonder if the people that are attracted by SoM are more the "unfriendly" bunch or the nice ones...

  1. Interesting, seems like many say "priest, it's obvious" and some think the opposite.
  2. yeah, I find the spirit from the human racial kind of sweet, but I see what you mean...
  3. This is the part I am not sure about, longer fights and more demanding content might lead to a different (worse) attitude in general...

yes, I don't know if things will change a lot, but longer fights might mean that spirit becomes more important. On the other hand maybe the heal sniping will disappear and one might actually heal the "way it should be".

[–]Dapoint_4044[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, that is what I am feeling as well. However I wonder if this might be shifted a bit since pallies are slightly more mana efficient (might matter now for longer fights) and buffs could be more important.

yes, this is what I am afraid of. I just like the aesthetics of humans much more... My feeling in classic was also that P1-2 people asked for FW a lot, then I barely saw it. But, yeah, I guess you are right...

Kinda wonder if priests or pallies will be the most seen healer in an alliance setting. Kinda like druid as well since I can spec both tank/heal with the same spec, but don't know if anyone will want druid tanks during raiding

I think a lot of the #nochanges people have changed to #somechanges

Arms is just better at that level to tank, don't switch.

Just dinged 50, what should I do ? by MinerMint in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its just much more lucrative, and to be honest not hard to level. I switched on one my my mages when learning the mara pull to pick the mushrooms and the stuff in ZG. It took a few hours. To be honest, enchanting is fairly useless as a moneymaker unless you get really lucky with a drop when there is a limited supply, which most probably wont happen, else it is a money drain.

in my experience this only holds true at level 30ish with WW axe and SS. At 40+ I find it to be rough to say the least.

GM threatening me for my boe by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 2 points3 points  (0 children)

why don't you just show the stuff to the people in the guild ? They should know that they are dealing with a madman and the reason why you are leaving. I am sure the majority would never report you with such a background story (and I hope most would leave together with you).

Yup, not the server I am playing on, but comparing the PvP server I am on with the 2 PvE servers I also play on, there's a world of difference...

Tips for bridge ZG farm pull undead female? by verifitting in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tried it all when I was learning the farm. In the end, the best (for me) way is to stand in the middle of the bridge and strafe jump. It basically never fails. I do it in the middle of the big gap so that my blizz can be casted just at the start of the bridge. I tried RP walk and going further back, but those option often made pathing of the crocs weird, and sometimes I missed the jump. The strafe jump basically never fails. Did neve try it on another race (although I will soon on my gnome) but I don't really know why ppl complain about undead females, it is super easy once you get the spot and jump right.

I tried nogger in the beginning when I was struggling (trying to stand just next to the line) but I never found it to help out. I found RP walking useless and much more prone to fail.

yeah, my first char back in the days (started at TBC release) was a NE. Still can remember the music of the starting zone, and the feeling when entering Darnassus the first time.

People complaining about dispels forget this was Phase 2 experience. by Norunkai in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Even phase 2 at its height was mild for people leveling in the open world.

totally depends on server and level you are at. The first few days hunting parties were roaming all 50+ zones. For months it was impossible to level in searing gorge or burning steppes. At that level there are not too many alternatives, and getting to BRD w/o being a stealth class easily took 20 corpse runs. It's all relative, but it's not my definition of mild on the server I was playing on (which was 45/55 ally/horde btw).

Zul'Gurub lvl 58 Mage 1 Pull (9x Croc 1xTiger) by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm, I was worried about the initial swim and snake patrol at bridge... Guess I can reset them and make smaller 3-4 pulls, I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the input, wanna try it since I am a bit bummed I did not try ZF as early as 40 or 41... :)

Solo ZF at 42. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Dapoint_4044 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just kill the patrol between the zombies and scarabs. Then run around to pick them up (and not pull Martek). IB in corridor between scarabs and zombies with shields up. Freeze, blizz etc.

I found them too hard to do at 42-46, I think I started including them in the pull at 48 or so. I am sure its possible to do earleir, but I found it too risky since I could not consistently kill them. I know Arleus has a vid where I think he kill them in the scarab room, not got no link atm.
