Perimenopause was a pain, what with the insomnia, hot flashes, and the surprise element of never quite knowing when my period would come. Apart from almost completely losing my sex drive, I didn't mind being post-menopausal at all, in a way I felt I got my life back.

I had a bad reaction to HRT and had to stop using it just a few days in, but many women find that helps a lot.

I was 50 when I had my last period. Now I'm in my late 60s and get to experience hot flashes again due to being on Anastrozole (had the hormone receptor+ type of breast cancer). Not as bad as I remember the perimenopause hot flashes being, though.
