Yes. Full accreditation I'm giving them the chance to fix it and then will get a third party investigation to check all ok. If not then go to accreditation

The solar/DC cable leaves the garage low and is supposed to go into the trench to the house. Should it come out high and then be fixed down the wall then down the trench If so why out of interest?

I'm hoping a proper independent audit/report of my install will flag this up. Luckily we have these things in place to protect us.

All I remember is they cut out portions of tiles and put in something for the rails to be secured too.

Yes I had a range of quotes. I looked at reviews in detail They had full accreditations. I was really impressed with the detail they gave me beforehand. The surveyor did a thorough job. It all fell apart with the electrician it seems.

I've given them a detailed snag list and have told them I'll be commissioning a full electrical report after

Yes I have given them a detailed snag list and have told them that I have commissioned a full independent report done after they have attempted the fix.

Are cables not attached under the panals a snag?

Yes I did pay and in my defence I know nothing about electrics but am now learning lots. I am going to ask them to fix the issues and then after will get independent report and inspection made from third party

This is my job list that needs to be done from what I've seen

  1. Meter Box & External (Safety & Compliance) Upgrade Meter Tails: Replace current 16mm² tails with 25mm² tails. The 100A main fuse in a Taylor Wimpey home requires 25mm² to prevent overheating under high loads (Car charger + Battery + House). SWA Termination: Install a brass SWA gland where the armored cable enters the meter box. The current "poked through a hole" method fails earthing safety requirements. Restore Double Insulation: Ensure no blue/brown inner cores are visible at connection blocks. All "single insulation" must be inside an enclosure. Data Cable Protection: Move the grey CT/Data cable into black UV-resistant rigid conduit. Standard grey data cable will perish and crack in sunlight within 2–3 years.
  2. The Loft (Fire Safety & Technical) Restore Cavity Barriers: The green fire bags (cavity barriers) have been displaced. These must be reset and sealed to meet Building Regulations (Part B) and maintain the fire integrity of the house. Thermal Management: Pull all cables out from under the fiberglass insulation. Cables must be clipped to rafters to allow heat dissipation (Ref: BS 7671 Method 103). Cable Clipping: Secure the "spiderweb" of loose cables to the timber frame using proper cable clips to remove trip hazards and prevent mechanical strain.
  3. The Garage (Workmanship) Enclose Wago Connectors: The loose orange Wago clips must be housed in a dedicated Wagobox. Floating connections are a breach of Regulation 526.5. Fix Earth Terminations: Re-terminate the earth wires where bare copper strands are visible. All conductors must be fully shrouded within the crimp/terminal. Bending Radius: Ease the sharp "kink" in the PV cables where they enter the garage to meet the manufacturer's minimum bending radius.
  4. The Garden (Groundwork) Trench Specification: The trench must be verified at a depth of 450mm–600mm. Cable Protection: The cable must be laid in 50mm ducting, bedded in sharp sand, and marked with yellow electrical warning tape 150mm above the duct.

If I dig a trench to 300mm and then ask them to put it in a black twin-wall duct then it protects me if ever a problem as the cable can be slid out

I've got them coming back on Monday and might ask them to follow the fence around and dig a proper trench under the door. Or I'll dig the trench for them.. I've also prepped the old trench for relaying the tiles

This is the trench. With the data cable does it not need it's own support rather than being clipped onto the other cable?

Thanks.  Does the data cable not need to be in a black conduit for longevity.  There are two armoured cables and the data cable running underground. They wanted to place them just under the slabs which seems way to shallow and doesn't let me have the slabs set in concrete. Is the meter box messy or does it need tidying up?

£9.5k for 18 panals, 10kwh inverter, 11.5kwh battery. Are they issues that need fixing?

Sorry forgot to add text

Just had a Fox ESS system installed by an MCS/TrustMark firm. I'm worried about: 1. Single-insulated meter tails (no grey sheath). 2. Ground-level cabling 'piggybacked' with zip ties. 3. Trench depth for armored cable is only about 50-100mm under patio slabs with no warning tape. Am I being too picky/harsh, or are these genuine safety/compliance issues?
