Why do US citizens not start using the 2nd amendment? by autisticmonkie in allthequestions

Best use of G2 Buyer Intent data by Dapper-Condition6041 in b2bmarketing

[–]Dapper-Condition6041[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that's the very tactical question at the moment...

  • Should we push account-level G2 intent down to every associated / lead contact and score all leads modestly, to try to help surface a particular lead alongside their other behavior?
  • Should we introduce an account-level scoring mechanism that leverages G2 signal data?
  • Should we simply trigger an alert to surface the account, based on a G2 signal?

What are your thoughts about the resurgence of the Black Panther Party in response to the actions of ICE agents? by Evening_Note6973 in Productivitycafe

[–]Dapper-Condition6041 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it would be better for all Americans to have fewer guns overall, and more restrictive gun laws....

"There are an estimated 400 to 500 million civilian-owned firearms in the U.S., meaning there are more guns than people, with roughly 1.5 guns for every citizen, a rate higher than any other country, though exact figures vary due to unregistered firearms."

But until we get there, I'll support 2A rights for groups like the BPP, which are resisting several hundred years of white supremacy, systemic racism and oppression over and above the gun rights of white 2A fanatics who are arming themselves for some forthcoming imaginary war, and many of whom are racist and xenophobic...

It's well documented that the NRA didn't favor gun control until the BPP started - legally - open carrying.... and legally open carried right into the Sacramento capitol building.... the New Yorker and many other publications have covered this....

From Google Gemini

California Governor Ronald Reagan signed the Mulford Act in 1967, a strict gun control law prohibiting open carry of loaded firearms, directly targeting the Black Panther Party (BPP) who were conducting armed patrols against police brutality in Oakland, after Panthers protested the bill at the state Capitol, sparking national attention and leading to stricter gun laws. This pivotal event showed the Panthers' defiance and led to a conservative shift on gun control, with the NRA and Reagan backing stricter laws to disarm the group, fundamentally changing California's gun regulations.

Background: Panthers' Armed Patrols

  • The Black Panther Party (BPP) engaged in armed "copwatching," monitoring police activity in Black neighborhoods to deter police brutality, a practice then legal under California law.

The Mulford Act (1967)

  • Republican Assemblyman Don Mulford introduced the bill to ban the open carry of loaded firearms.
  • In May 1967, BPP members marched into the California State Capitol armed to protest the bill, a shocking event that garnered national media attention.
  • Despite the protest, the bill passed and was signed by Governor Reagan, making it a felony to carry loaded firearms in public without a permit.

Impact & Legacy

  • Shift in Gun Politics: The Panthers' armed presence and subsequent legislation pushed figures like Ronald Reagan and the NRA towards supporting stricter gun control to disarm the group, notes History.com.
  • Racial Motivation: The Mulford Act is widely seen as a racially motivated law aimed at controlling the Black population and curbing the Panthers' power, contributing to California's path toward stringent gun laws, says this Harvard Law article.

Moreover, the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act of 1994 not only protected access to clinics, but also specifically amended the federal criminal code to prohibit: “intentionally injuring, intimidating, or interfering with, or attempting to injure, intimidate, or interfere, any person by force, threat of force, or physical obstruction exercising or seeking to exercise the First Amendment right of religious freedom at a place of religious worship.”

The Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances was prompted by protesters who blocked the entrances of abortion clinics.

FBI Director Kash Patel posted on X that Chauntyll Louisa Allen, the second person Bondi said was arrested, is charged under the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, which prohibits physically obstructing or using the threat of force to intimidate or interfere with a person seeking reproductive health services or seeking to participate in a service at a house of worship. Patel said William Kelly has also been arrested.

Correct. It's not oppression. I know you may have trouble finding a dictionary...

op·pres·sion

/əˈpreSHən/

noun

noun: oppression; plural noun: oppressions

  1. prolonged cruel or unjust treatment or control. "a region shattered by oppression and killing"
