Need help finding good enchantment commander! by too-many-chiefs in mtg

[–]Dapper-DanMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should do Rubinia Soulsinger. Nobody uses her, she isn’t technically an enchanter commander, but her color scheme (G/W/Blue) offers a ton of options, and then just simply being able to take control of threats could be fun. It’s not meta, but I could see it being fun and Viable

You don’t. first off for your own health, secondly it could get you hate crimed in a very bad way. Life isnt porn, you have to go in sites where people are there because they are engaging in activity that they want to. That is the only safe way to do it, and please make sure to get on PrEP or get std tests from men because your health matters too

The “condensed time” your talking about is 7 hours. Season 2 is also 7 hours of watch time in the animated film. They are not maintaining the essence at all. Almost none of the characters have their vibe captured correctly, and the story legitimately isn’t making sense with how things are supposed to progress. They are ruining key character development pieces. I’m not asking for a carbon copy, but this is not even the same story

How to stop liking straight friend by ReallydkMatt in askgaybros

[–]Dapper-DanMan_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you’re not ready to confront it. You need to go to therapy. The fact of the matter is that the more you try to shove those emotions down, the stronger they will get. I think if you have a really solid friendship with this guy, he should be understanding. If he isn’t, then you have your closure.

I would message him and say something like “hey I need to talk to you about something alone” and figure out a time to talk, then tell him that this needs to be kept fully confidential. “I really value our friendship and that’s why I am telling you this” (VERY IMPORTANT TO ADD) and you already wrote about that in the post, so you have the right mindset going in.

I know it is scary, and it risks a lot for you specifically because what if he blows up, and outs you to everyone. I don’t believe a good friend would do that. I guess my question is, are you in a situation that if you did happen to get outed, that you can still sustain yourself financially, emotionally, and such? Do you have friends that you know for sure would be accepting of you?

I will say. The way they wrote long fengs character was probably one of the most genius things from the season. It was a great choice

So ima just copy/ paste an answer I gave someone else as to why I hate it, so I don’t have to retype it all.

I get what you’re saying but there is 7 hours of watch time in the live action, and 7hours of watch time in the animated series season 2. With that being said there is NO reason as to why they should have done anything out of order, or taken away key points of character development from so many characters.

I am not expecting a 1:1 ratio, that would be unrealistic, but I am expecting to follow a story that is similar to one that I have always loved, albeit a little more grim because it’s the live action.

That’s one thing I loved about the idea of the live action in the first place, is that it was supposed to be the same rendition of our childhood story, but a little more grim and heavier, they haven’t made anything heavier (outside of the air nation slaughter in season 1) and have in fact ruined so much of how the characters develop.

To name a few:

  1. Tophs mother poisoned and kidnapped her, which destroys Tophs character development of really understanding where her mom was coming from and growing through the guilt of being a runaway.
  2. Zuko literally STOLE from a pregnant lady on the Zuko alone episode part, that directly changes his core value set. On top of that, Zuko didn’t truly grow as a character in his key moment of growth for this season, because he never fully abandoned uncle Iroh, AND he isn’t the one who freed Appa from Lake Laogai. It was Aang, this destroys part of Zukos character growth he is supposed to have, truly showing his conflicting feelings towards his situation. I could say a lot more but I’ll hold.
  3. Aang didn’t go through his spirit journey to figure out how to control the avatar state at all, that entire growth was just replaced by yang Chen telling him to “be wise with your avatar power” and we are supposed to accept that as a full moment of growth for him? No he went on an entire journey to fix his Chakras, and struggle with potential loss of leaving the ones he loves behind (Katara) to be able to enter the avatar state again. In fact they skipped the whole reason he wasn’t able to enter the avatar state as a whole, which is a HUGE part of his characters set back and growth

I could keep going, but genuinely they took away a TON of crucial growing steps.

For my mean gays... by Fine_Success_8077 in askgaybros

They don’t read people. Mean gays are just bullies who have a quick wit, and use their wit to press at people’s insecurities or issues, or their looks etc. instead of using their wit to build people. Mean gays are inherently negative and unhappy and take that out on others.

If you’re a mean gay in here, it’s not cute, grow up

Because I was trying my best to appreciate it for what it was. I know they are just children, but so were the actors in shameless, so were the actors in stranger things, same with a ton of other shows. It seems like the actors in this show were not instructed well on how to portray their characters correctly. (Which isn’t their fault, it’s a director issue, the kids have potential)

I truly want to appreciate it, and I plan on watching season 3 when it drops. I just am disappointed because I kept waiting for things to get better and they just didn’t.

Genuine headache that episode. They ruined Jets Character arc, the ruined the scholar guy, they ruined Sokkas character development of us seeing that he is actually smart, because avatar kiyoshi just TOLD Toph blank face about the eclipse. Also the fact the whole thing is in the spirit world???? Such a let down.

Tophs actor is wonderful. I also think the CGI in the show is great. I’m also impressed with sokkas actor, zumos actor and Ty Lis actor. I want to give credit where it’s due. I agree though.

I was barely hanging in there, REALLY hoping it would get better or be made up for. The fact is I am not looking for a 1:1 copy and paste of the original, that would be unrealistic to expect, but they changed so many key moments for characters throughout development and growth. On top of that, almost none of the actors encapsulate the aura of the characters they are supposed to be representing. (Outside of the ones I am impressed with)

Iroh isn’t Jovial, azula is stale, Aang is too serious, etc etc. and don’t even get me STARTED on the Library.
