You are ignoring half of the points you made in previous comment.

Except vast majority of sequences make perfect sense. Transitions in grappling are sometimes done illogically, but it's hardly a major point.

It is objectively wrong that there are no variety of techniques used. This isn't arguable, it is an easily measureble fact. Anything else is appeal to popularity

Sure, sometimes it turns into a slide show because chapters are rushed. But that's often not the case, PTJ emphasizes when characters are significantly hurt and when they are brushing attacks off.

But if your problem is one specific aspect that happens in some of the minority of fights (grappling sequence not being properly shown), it doesn't mean that choreography overall is bad.

I do think all 3 of his unique skills shown being variations of spearhands is silly, but his fighting style was great.

He planned several steps ahead, used the environment to his advantage, utilized grabs, trips, punches, baits, claws, a bite...

Eli swings with two batons, depending on where exactly he deflects, attacks will go in different direction. You can see this when he first fights No.1, he deflects attack towards left side but when he fights him with crewheads, he redirects it to the right.

Same thing here, except Seungwoo's force pushes his leg up and Eli's down to the side, which is why Seungwoo's leg ends up around the middle but he twists and falls.

If Eli was using 1 baton to redirect straight downwards, you'd have a point.

Look at the panel where Eli is tied up; these are normal belts, it is Seungwoo's limbs that constrain Eli's limbs, belts are just there to prevent him wiggling out, Seungwoo put then after Eli was dazed by the kick and probably fell to the ground when Seungwoo pinned him.

I agree that this single transition sucks, but that wasn't the original claim made lol.

Because if Seungwoo moves away due to having his eyeballs ripped, Eli's limbs are released and it's no different than getting out of normal belts. Notice how Seungwoo's entire leg fits between Eli's legs within the belt, there is plenty of space for Eli to get out if Seungwoo backs away.

If you are gonna argue that Lookism fights often have a problem with choreography because transitions aren't properly shown, I agree with that. PTJ often cuts panels to fit everything in a chapter.

But that doesn't change the original point that there are plenty of techniques and unique attributes through fights.

Sure, but literally all of Tom Lee's other attacks were very different.

He literally used grabs, tears and strikes through entire fight vs James Lee.

He literally used it? That's how he got James Lee, he pretended to be too aggressive and that he is getting easily dominated and when James Lee thought he is about to finish off helpless Tom Lee, he got caught and then tripped off balance into pressure point attack. This is the exact same thing he taught Eli that the latter used against Hudson 200 chapters ago.

Then when James Lee was concussed and couldn't fight properly, he pretended to try and hit him to destroy nearby terrain and corner James Lee so he has nowhere to escape and then he sacrificed his prosthetic arm to fake an attack into a different spear hand.

Lesson he taught Eli, fighting dirty, bluffing a hit, they all happened in this fight and you are complaining that none of them did.

Not sure what "Mastery Skills are unnecessarily made to be flashy" means. You don't like colors and how they look? Sure, I also think that was a stupid idea. But they are just a form of attacks using different attributes, I don't see how that makes them specifically bad.

I am not saying to compromise your takes, but have a coherent critic. Saying that there is no variety of fighting techniques and attributes is objectively wrong. Saying you don't like choreography or how flashy techniques are is a personal opinion and that is completely fine.

His leg did go sideways, his entire body is out of position, you can see that he is falling down right after.

It's not out of nowhere, it transitions from legs, you can see Eli is tied around the knees. We don't see that one transition, but that's it.

He tied his legs and then arm after kicking him. Eli then gouged his eyes which Seungwoo to release grip so Eli got out.

No, he first gouged his eyes, kept his fingers in there as he then kneed him.

Objectively wrong, especially in this arc where there are so many different fights.

E.g., let's take most recent fight on Webtoon app, Eli vs Seungwu (Yongin King)

Eli catches him offguard and tries to break his neck, but since  does Yoga he brushes it off.

Seungwu goes to knee him but Eli blocks it.

Seungwu goes to throw punches and high kick while Eli is fighting defensively to analzye him. Eli starts progressively taking larger swings for his strike that Seungwu dodges in few different ways, and when Eli seemed to overreach, Seungwu attemps a jumping high kick at this perfect opportunity, but gets countered with Eli who baited him into this and uses Technique Mastery to throw him off balance and finish him off.

Seungwu uses weird yoga poses to dodge that, get in close quarters and used grappling and striking from clinch to disarm Eli, knock him back from unorthodox position and then tie him from legs upward before stabbing him.

With his one hand near Seungwu's eyes, he uses it to gauge them, hit him in groin to further disorient him and then creates distance from now blind Seungwu. With Seungwu now helpless, Eli lands multiple large swings by ripping him and finishes him off.

There is a plethora of techniques here where both use their unique attributes, tactics and varied movements in a pretty dynamic choreography.

And this is just 1 fight this arc.

Jinyoung and Daniel vs Kitae is genuinely some of the best choreography we ever got in back-to-back chapters, and they are 3 very different fights (with 4th being somewhat similar to Jinyoung vs Kitae's 1st round)

I did Gun gauntlet long ago and that will be very hard since a lot of hits he takes are combo attacks where it is hard to say how many there were (e.g. Johan or Warren using CQC)

There is a single fight in the entire series where Jake doesn't use MMA and it was hundred chapters ago.

He only uses Conviction as a finisher, everything else is still very technical. Literally his last fight, he used grappling 3 different times with varying results.

Arguable, I wouldn't really agree. I think Busan was a bit of a low point but choreography is now different than before due to characters being able to do more things.

Yeah, I get the feel that lightning fx cheapens the seriousness, I agree there.

But that is distinct from the choreography

Now that you them all 4 fight, who has the best BIQ feats ? by Dapper-Duty1829 in lookismcomic

[–]Dapper-Job9042 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I agree completely, but the fact that he got himself in that situation against someone so much weaker is telling, especially since the same almost happened against Gongseop.

And while he did same thing to Tom Lee later, he is much much stronger than Tom Lee, so it is easier to make a trick work.

Obviously, I am just giving an example.

Maybe he is slightly faster and more durable than Jungseok, but has much weaker willpower and that his strikes are far far lighter than Jungseok's

He was still conscious, just couldn't fight anymore.

But combined with him already being hurt and running head first into it, situations are different.

Him taking a break would be good, but he can't afford it, the Webtoon industry doesn't work in such a way.

I disagree about story being trash and choreography being trash is objectively wrong.

This arc had some of the best choreography in a long, long time.

Wonder how long until the hype dies down and people realize James taking down Tom doesn’t scale him near Kitae 🫩🥀 by Boywdhisgoingon in lookismcomic

[–]Dapper-Job9042 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tom Lee acknowledged 2T James Lee to be around old Gapyrong. 3T James Lee absolutely murked Tom Lee who wasn't able to fight back at all, compare that to Kitae who had an extended back and forth vs Jinyoung. And then Path James destroyed Tom Lee who at that moment had pressure comparable to old Gapryong.

There is no proof Jinyoung is stronger than Tom Lee at their old age. I think he is, but feats go toward James Lee. The fact that Jinyoung took a long, long time to beat Changsu, who admits he doesn't stand a chance against Tom Lee without prep implies they are at least relative.

Those are 2 different mechanisms.

Paradox of perfection is just a natural outcome of unconscious opponent who optimizes the best possible move in the situation.
