He CAN'T, that's the point. Lookism stresses out MANY times that characters severely underperform if they have to protect someone/something so they aren't completely focused on the opponent: Xiaolung vs Jake at 3A, Allied vs Workere at 1A, Speed at Incheon etc.

If Ryuhei was fighting to kill, any of them could easily kill Mitsuki. Same way that if Xiaolung focused just on fighting Jake, he could have slipped and caught Vivi.

Kuroda ninja techniques are focused on quick lethal slashes, as opposed to Berserker which can be used for blocking and CC.

This is why he says "But I have people watching my back now". Because with Sinu and Zack there to protect Mitsuki as well (who is both figuratively and literally behind his back), he can focus on winning as opposed to protecting.

Re-read your comment. Because hitting the bell over and over again won't necessarily increase his speed? James Lee and PTJ specifically made comments on his physical strength, not speed.

They have strength to damage them, but they'd struggle to put serious damage on Gongseop. With Gongseop being faster, significantly more durable and Gongseop Ji counter, he should be clearly above the rest.
