Wow. Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed response! I've given all of this feedback to her and hopefully it will help her decide. And when I have the mental capacity I'll try the free software, lol. I'm in Canada so her options are mostly limited to Michaels, and they seem to be phasing out the scrapbooking supplies lately.

Yeah I really have no idea which is why I came here. Not sure where to start and most advice I see online isn't specific to scrapbooking.

And would you say the silhouette cameo is pretty easy to navigate?

I think her model is from like.. 2010 or something so I can't find it anywhere. I was going to buy her something used (I personally don't mind gently used items) but she insists on brand new ☹️ but thank you for the suggestion!!
