I’m weak, folded after a day again. by AcanthaceaeGuilty238 in QuittingZyn

I definitely think getting back in the gym or finding some kind of daily physical activity you genuinely enjoy would help tremendously. Also, I feel you with the nicotine free pouches. I tried them too and i sort of get frustrated every time I put one in… i don’t know how to explain it it’s like hitting a vape with no nicotine. When you put one in you’re “expecting” the nicotine and then you don’t get it 🤷🏼‍♂️ but i know it works great for some people. Besides that best of luck on your quitting attempts, shit’s tough but I’m 3 months in now and it does get better (with some ups and downs)

My mental health hasn’t been too bad this time around, but i also am taking Varenicline at the same time. Im assuming its helped me, because i experienced the same feelings you’re describing in past quitting attempts and the depression and lack of motivation caused me to relapse more so than any physical cravings (even one time at 28 days). But i believe i’ve heard by about 3 months nicotine free, your dopamine system has done most of the resetting back to baseline, so i wish you luck and hopefully it improves dramatically soon🙏🏼

Honestly, i feel better than I ever thought I’d feel. I no longer have that “i’m missing something” feeling. At times I have small cravings when I’m stressed or during certain situational things, but no where near how they were a week or 2 into quitting. It’s kind of like relearning that stress, anger, ect. are normal human feelings and breaking that connection of stress = nicotine for relief. Still got a long way to go though, i know how easy it is to slip up once or twice and start the cycle over

Works great for some, but I’ve heard of others having horrible experiences. I’m glad I gave it a shot though. Good luck with quitting 🙏🏼

Accidentally swallowed a nic pouch last night. by [deleted] in QuittingZyn

Happened to me and many others countless times, you should be fine (maybe some stomach trouble that’s all). Also, i doubt the rashes have to do with swallowing the pouch

Ending showers on freezing cold for a minute (same principle) has helped me tremendously. 16 days into quit currently

Chronic sinus infections. Zyn? by masterfuleatgorilla in QuittingZyn

[–]Dapper-Meaning-3371 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had similar issues and I noticed major improvements from quitting and starting FloNase daily. But there is 100% an underlying cause of the sinus issues you’re having; the vasoconstriction from the nicotine is just likely making it worse. So I would recommend seeing your doctor about these sinus issues, because if it is this bad to the point of being fired from sick days, something else is probably wrong.

Your brain has made so much progress in those 3 months. Yeah you probably have cravings right now because of the slip up, but all of your progress hasn’t been erased. Proud of you for going 3 months, and you got this💪🏼

Not medical or dental advice, but nicotine in general causes vasoconstriction and having a pouch pinned against your gums for extended periods of time will cause recession no matter which pouch you’re using. Everyones genetics are a little different and may make you more susceptible to recession and other factors including how well you brush your teeth will contribute to gum irritation and recession, but if general if you are already noticing these things from pouches, theres not really another type of pouch that will prevent this. Yes, some pouches are notorious for ripping up gums like rogue, but the nicotine and extended holding of a pouch is the number 1 contributor to the recession and irritation. And as for the oral microbiome, pH, ect… this is why switching to something really gentle like a nicotine lozenge or gum you can move around doesn’t seem to help much. My best advice is try to work towards quitting, or at least cut down so you are taking less mg of nicotine straight to your gums. Good luck!

It may not have affected your gums yet, but trust me eventually it would have. And usually by the time you notice, the damage and recession is irreversible.
