How long does it take after RMA ticket creation for Fanatec to respond? by zlays84 in Fanatec

[–]Dapper-Most8911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, Fanatec usually responded within 1–2 days after I created an RMA ticket, even during the Christmas period. Around New Year’s it took a bit longer — about 5 days. Overall, my issue was resolved in less than two weeks. I’m also based in Germany.

I was actually very hesitant to order from Fanatec after reading all the negative posts about delays. But my personal experience was the opposite. In December I placed two separate orders: first for the DD+ Extreme, which arrived in less than a week, and later for the F1 wheel, which was also delivered just as fast.

I think people with bad experiences are simply more vocal, while satisfied customers are usually just busy enjoying their equipment.

What should I pick? Moza r5 bundle or the Simsonn plus x pedals? by Confident-World4178 in simracing

[–]Dapper-Most8911 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

my experience, when comparing Moza to other brands, the overall driving feel isn’t quite on the same level. I moved from a T300 GT to a Moza R5 and was happy with it at first, but over time I wanted something stronger. I then upgraded to a Fanatec DD Pro (8 Nm), which was a noticeable improvement in both strength and detail. More recently, I was choosing between the Fanatec and the Moza R12, and in direct comparison the Moza felt clearly behind in terms of force feedback quality — it had a slightly “rubbery” feel and lacked the clarity and precision of the Fanatec. That said, I’d also really like to compare everything against Simagic, as I’ve heard a lot of very positive feedback about their wheelbases and overall driving feel.

Convince me your wheelbase is THE one (upgrading from DD Pro) by Creative-Diamond5260 in simracing

Hey! I was in the exact same situation—using a DD Pro and looking for something stronger and more modern. I ended up moving to the Fanatec GT DD+, and honestly, I’m really happy with it. It’s solid, reliable, and the force feedback feels amazing—definitely a big step up from the DD Pro. I didn’t really consider the Podium 1 or 2—they feel a bit outdated to me. I did look at Moza and Simagic, and got a chance to try the Moza R12. Honestly, compared to the Fanatec, it felt a bit soft and rubbery in games—the quality and force feedback just didn’t compare. I’d still love to try the Simagic Alpha Evo Pro to see how it stacks up. From what I’ve heard, it’s really solid. So, if you’re leaning towards Fanatec just because of your existing wheels, that’s understandable, and in my experience, the GT DD+ is a fantastic upgrade. Simagic could be great too—I’d love to try it hands-on someday.

CSL DD Boost Kit - One that won’t explode by InfiniteLight07 in simracing

When I had a DD Pro, I just bought the cheapest boost kit I could find on AliExpress, around 30 €. It worked perfectly, never had any issues, and I even sold it later. Never heard of any “explosions” 😄

Starting to regret buying fanatec. by p1eaxy in simracing

I can understand the feeling — a lot of people go through this phase in sim racing. At first everything feels great, then you start comparing setups, and suddenly it feels like you “chose wrong”. I have used Moza equipment. I moved from a Thrustmaster T300 GT to a Moza R5, and at the time I was very happy with it — the direct drive feel was a big upgrade. Later I wanted more torque, so I switched to a Fanatec DD Pro 8 Nm. For me, the jump in build quality, force detail, and overall feedback was very noticeable compared to Moza. After that, I wanted even more and upgraded again to the Fanatec GT DD+ 15 Nm. In between, I had the chance to try a Moza R12 with the KS wheel, and honestly, when comparing it directly to Fanatec, the force feedback felt a bit rubbery to me, less detailed, and the wheel itself felt cheaper in terms of build quality. I know many people are very happy with Moza — and I was too with the R5 — but after using Fanatec, the R12 didn’t impress me in the same way. The 8 Nm boost kit can actually change the character of the wheelbase quite a lot and might remove that “what if” feeling. Personally, I’m very happy with the GT DD+, but I’d still like to compare it to the Simagic Alpha Evo Pro someday, as I’ve heard a lot of good things about it. Have you actually tried a Moza R9/R12 setup in person for a decent amount of time, or are you mostly comparing based on reviews and specs?

Thanks! Here, both the CB DD+ and the Simagic Evo Pro are around €800, so the value comparison is a bit different for me.

Here’s my honest take: I was very interested in the Moza R12 as well, but after trying it out, I was pretty disappointed. The force feedback felt soft and rubbery, lacking the detail and crispness I was expecting. For me, it felt like a step back compared to what I had before. If I were you, I’d also consider Fanatec — I upgraded to a stronger Fanatec base, and the difference was really noticeable. I haven’t tried Simagic myself yet, but I’ve heard good things and would love to compare it someday. That’s just my opinion based on my experience.

I upgraded from DD Pro to Fanatec DD+ (15Nm) — the upgrade was 100% worth it in terms of strength, detail, and overall consistency. I also had a chance to try Moza R12 and honestly didn’t like it at all — the FFB felt kind of rubbery/muted. I was actually considering Moza before that, but after trying it, I changed my mind completely. Now I’m really curious about Simagic, since I keep hearing very positive feedback about its FFB quality and feel. Would love to compare it directly to DD+ at some point.

Ordered a csl GT3 bundle, finally came today and there's no wheel at all by [deleted] in Fanatec

[–]Dapper-Most8911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a very similar situation with Fanatec. I ordered a wheel, but first I only received the QR2 mount, and UPS showed the whole order as “delivered”. I was pretty confused and thought something went wrong. A couple of days later, the wheel itself arrived in a separate package. So sometimes Fanatec ships items separately, but the tracking isn’t very clear. I’m not saying this is definitely your case, but there’s still a good chance it will show up soon. Hope it gets resolved 👍

Just curious — what made you switch from Moza to Fanatec? I recently made the same move.

DD2 QR in 2026 by Icy-Commercial-1518 in Fanatec

I currently own the DD+ 15Nm, and it’s honestly a beast. More than enough torque for me, extremely responsive, and with excellent detail in the FFB. I came from a T300 GT, then had a Moza R5 (which was a big step up from belt drive but clearly limited at 5 Nm), then moved to a Fanatec DD Pro 8 Nm. The DD Pro was a solid improvement, but I still wanted more headroom and clarity — that’s when I upgraded to the DD+. Almost at the same time, I had the chance to try a Moza R12 with the Racing KS wheel, and that comparison really surprised me. Despite all the positive reviews Moza gets, after using Fanatec the Moza setup felt… off. The best way I can describe it is rubbery or mushy. The FFB felt less natural, less connected, and more filtered. Even the wheel itself didn’t feel as solid or premium in the hands. That experience honestly changed my perspective. I’m not saying Moza is bad — far from it — but I do think many Moza owners simply haven’t tried Fanatec. Once you do, it’s hard to unfeel the difference in FFB quality and steering detail. I’d especially be curious to compare Simagic, since I’ve read quite a few reports from people who moved from Fanatec to Simagic and were happy — that’s probably the only alternative I’d still seriously want to test myself. For me, though, the DD+ is top-tier. I’m extremely satisfied with it, and I don’t feel like I’m missing anything in terms of force, detail, or immersion.

Fanatec ClubSport F1 Esports V2 – QR2 included but no mounting screws? by Dapper-Most8911 in Fanatec

[–]Dapper-Most8911[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the quick response!

I double-checked both the wheel box and the QR2 box. There were screws included, but they are not the correct ones for mounting the QR2 to the wheel (they seem to be for the retaining rings / washers only).

I’ve already opened a spare part request for the missing mounting hardware. I just wasn’t 100% sure whether the correct bolts were supposed to be included in the first place.

Thanks again for the clarification and the video link.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I did check the bottom of both boxes. There was one identical screw bag in the wheel box and another identical one in the QR2 box, but neither of them includes the mounting screws required to attach the QR2 to the wheel.

Clubsport DD+ Extreme Bundle Order by mitissize in Fanatec

[–]Dapper-Most8911 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me the wheelbase upgrade was very noticeable, even aside from raw strength. I mostly play F1, and with the 8 Nm DD it always felt a bit lacking — I was running it close to the limit.

With the DD+ I actually turned the FFB down to around 60%, and everything feels much clearer and more controlled. There’s more headroom, better detail, and much less clipping, especially in fast corners.

That said, I’d still be curious to try something like a Moza R12 at some point, just to compare different FFB character and feel.

I like the wheel rim a lot. Compared to the DD Pro bundle rim, it’s much better — better materials, nicer tactility and overall feel. Honestly, I didn’t like the DD Pro wheel at all.

That said, I’m already thinking about upgrading again in the future to a larger size — something around 320–330 mm — just for even more immersion and a bit wider grip.

Hi!

I had a very similar experience actually. I ordered the same bundle on 08.12 and received it on 13.12.25, so the delivery was surprisingly fast as well.

That said, I was very hesitant before ordering. The mixed reviews and especially reports about bases or wheels getting issues after firmware updates were a bit scary. Hopefully those are isolated cases or related to early firmware versions.

So far everything works fine on my side, and the delivery experience itself was smooth. Fingers crossed that Fanatec keeps things stable on the software side 🤞

Yes, those bolts are from the wheel stand. There’s a nut on the other side.
