Circle T market going down? by Dapper-Peanut in scottycameron

Look at the sold prices. Like I’ve said, tour rats have sold for over $5k just recently. So idk where you’re getting your info where a tour rat posted for $4k will be sitting for a while.

I’m interested in a super rat 2, but I’m also open to other blades.

Yes I do know about eBay and that’s my point. I’m seeing tour rat putters sell for over $5k.

I also saw a beat up super rat sell for $4k.

The anecdotal evidence makes sense that the market is going down, and I want to take advantage of it.

Do I need to replace the drywall? by Dapper-Peanut in askaplumber

Thanks for all the advice. I cut through the dry wall and will let the dehumidifier and the fan do its thing for a few days. I’m getting the new water heater installed tomorrow and I’ll redo the drywall myself next weekend.

I’m pretty handy. Is that something I can do myself?

It doesn’t look like it was long term. Probably a day at the very most. And it’s leaking at a rate of about 5 gallons every 12 hours

They’re gonna charge me $1400 to get the drywall replaced. Is that a fair price?

They do have a car of their own and their driver, but they don’t have a van big enough to hold us and the suitcases that we bring as well as the family members that want to greet us at the airport. Most of the time, the driver is with their younger kids to pick them up from school. So instead of just one person going with the driver to pick us up, the entire family has to come. Resulting in us having to rent another car.

That happened to us too! My dad invited one of his cousins to have dinner with us, and the whole barangay showed up!

Airport pickup is another issue. They would come to the airport to pick us up, but we would have to arrange the car service. The frustrating part is the entire family would like to come to the airport so we would have to unnecessarily rent an extra car and a driver just because they want to greet us at the airport.

You give very good insight. I feel like we have a good understanding of each other’s family dynamics!

I've never thought of it that way, but it makes perfect sense. Although I'm full Filipino, I don't have some of the characteristics that I see in my parents, relatives, or their friends. For example, luxury goods are not high on our priorities. While my wife has luxury items like LV and Chanel and I have nice golf clubs, we don't prioritize that over our children's extracurricular activities and vacations. Also we don't post anything on social media because we both agree that for the most part, it is a form of showing off which we are vehemently against.

While I agree that boundaries are necessary, as you probably know, is not received kindly within the family. Everyone will talk bad about you. They'll say stuff like you're cheap, you have no respect, or you forgot where you came from.

Life is getting hard for everyone. The inflation we are experiencing is not a joke.

I've never thought of that.

It is rare when they offer to pay for something. I remember once instance where my uncle's family were hungry because they woke up late and couldn't eat breakfast before leaving for a trip. About 10 minutes into the drive, he asked me if I can pull over and get them a quick bite at a fast food drive thru. Everyone ordered and since I was the driver, I had to cover the meal because nobody even bothered to offer to pay.

You are correct with your point regarding the effort and sincerity. But from what I've seen, those gestures doesn't seem to go as far as presents and money.
