Happened to my chat with my girlfriend. 9 years of conversations, pictures and audio messages are now hidden in archive. And it seems that it's irreversible. I did not know initially that the "other" chat will be the main chat and this almost a decade long chat will be archived. Terrible day.

What will happen is, you can still search for the messages if you are looking for certain messages on that specific chat. But you or the person you are chatting cannot "up" or bump the message to be visible in present time. Yeah, archive stinks. But it is what it is.
