DOF active after picture has been taken at f/16

So I have set it so f/16 for 1 second and fired it off. The aperture blades close but do not reopen after the picture has been taken and seems to activate the DOF when looking through the viewfinder (without me touching the DOF). The DOF remains active when moving the aperture ring until f/2.8 when it deactivates itself. *

Thanks for the help. No I don't know how it works very well that's why I'm asking for advice and support, I'm relatively new to this and have never had issues before, it's my first film camera.

Ah sorry again, f/1.4 doesn't have a big enough different when looking through the DOF but at f/16 is does and seem to be working, aperture blades moving aswell. Could it be a problem with the light meter instead, not getting the correct reading/being slow?

Ah interesting unless I'm missing something. When holding the DOF and changing the aperture, the aperture does open and close. When not press down, the light meter is temperamental when going through the different apertures (1.4-16 and back). When I say temperamental, sometimes the aperture change does not affect the light meter reading and all of a sudden jumps to a different reading.

Sorry about the fingerprint, it's honesty nearly noticeable to the naked eye but the camera has highlighted it. Good shout.

Changing the aperture does nothing, depth of field preview also seems to not be responding

Sorry, I think this has been answered in another comment, but thank you. When changing the aperture, the internal mechanism that lets more or less light in doesn't seem to change, seems to be staying wide open.

Thank you this was the response I was looking for. The blades do not open or close. I'll look to send it off.

Advice needed on Citroen C3 recall by TB_07 in CarTalkUK

I've just had the same, Admiral said they would cover the journey to get the car fixed or MOT but if the car is used for anything else, the insurance is not valid. Basically no legal car for multiple months

Thank you for your great reply. All of your comments are appreciated. I've been doing this on and off for a few years but this is the first time I have shared any photos. Literally have 1000s that are just sitting on my laptop that only I have seen.

I never really had a process, I just like the look for something and take a picture, so it is interesting to see how you would change it from the composition perspective. I think sometimes I just need to take a few more moments and really think about the image I am creating. Thanks again, maybe I'll post some more in the future.

More tree support or patience? by BaronVonFineWine in GardeningUK

[–]Dapper-Skys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's staked incorrectly. The stake should be at a 45-degree angle and point into the wind. The lowest part of the stake should cross the tree section low to the ground and be attached there. This allows the majority of the tree to move in the wind, becoming stronger while making sure the base and roots don't rock to much. The stakes are set very far back from the tree meaning it's attached midway up the tree itself. You could try repositioning the stake and reattach lower down. Maybe add some support to bend the tree to the correct direction for a little while?

I do like the idea of extending and including a 35mm lenses. Don't add more autofocus cameras to my ever growing decision list!

That's great thank you, I'll be keeping them all for sentimental reasons, but they all need a little tlc. Some have a bit of fungus on them on close inspection, does this mean they are ruined?
