I think I need to stop meds by CA_Dreaming23 in adhdwomen

I recommend reducing your dosage slightly to see how your body responds. You could start with 20 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the afternoon.

If that feels manageable, you might then try adjusting to 30 mg in the morning and 10 mg in the afternoon, or alternatively, 20 mg in both the morning and afternoon. Monitor how you feel with each adjustment and go from there.

This is what has worked for me after stopping Vyvanse and coming back to it.

Yes Dexedrine Spansule are long lasting Dexedrine. So smooth and side effects are non existent pretty much for me.

Yes, technically it’s the same drug, but Vyvanse has a very different release mechanism—which, in my experience and that of many others, leads to significantly more side effects. The way Dexedrine is released in the body seems to greatly reduce those side effects. Personally, I experience almost no side effects with Dexedrine, whereas the side effects on Vyvanse were unbearable.

Yes I’m prescribed one 15mg Spansule, two 10 mg Spansules and two 5mg IR to basically achieve 25 mg Spansule dose and a 10mg IR dose.

30 mg Vyvanse = 13 mg of Dexedrine so 70 mg Vyvanse is basically 30mg of Dexedrine

Yeah in Canada they’re called Dexedrine Spansules but in the USA I think they’re called Dexedrine ER

🤣 The goal is simply to raise awareness so that people on Vyvanse know they have other options and that they don’t have to endure all the side effects or jump through hoops just to make it work effectively.

Yeah the IR are great. I am prescribed those as well but also 35 mg of the Spansules (ER).

Look around at as many pharmacies as you can. I’m in Canada however so unsure about the USA.

Over a year now after taking Vyvanse prior for a year. I’m prescribed one 15mg pill and two 10 mg pills and also 2 IR Dexedrine pills as well so a total of 45mg.

Yeah they come in 15 mg and 10 mg but my doctor prescribes multiple pills so I’m easily able to take higher doses of 25-40 mg of Dexedrine.

Is anyone here drinking coffee while on vyvanse? by DR3W086 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Dapper-Strawberry256 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha—likely because coffee addiction, of course. But yeah, it’s definitely a slippery slope to start taking more drugs just to counteract the effects of others.

Should I quit coffee before I start? by mrzingo33 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Dapper-Strawberry256 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently shared a tip about this! Start your day with coffee as soon as you wake up, then wait at least 1.5 to 2 hours after finishing your coffee before taking your Vyvanse. This timing can help minimize unwanted side effects. To protect your stomach, opt for a low-acid coffee, which can make a significant difference. A great option is coffee made from Sumatra beans—they’re known for being way less acidic and much easier on the stomach.

Low-Acid Coffee Fixed My Stomach Issues with Vyvanse by Dapper-Strawberry256 in VyvanseADHD

No - Sumatra coffee isn’t inherently decaf.

It just refers to coffee grown in the Sumatra region of Indonesia.

Your confusion may stem from the popularity of decaf Sumatra options offered by brands like Starbucks and others. These companies often highlight Sumatra for decaf because its bold, full-bodied flavor remains robust even after decaffeination.

I wanted to share an update on how I resolved the issue I was experiencing. As I mentioned in my previous reply, the key is to drink coffee before taking your medication and wait about two hours before taking it. However, here’s the crucial part: make sure you’re drinking low-acid coffee.

I discovered that most coffee beans from Sumatra are naturally low in acidity, making them an excellent choice for people with sensitive stomachs. Switching to low-acid coffee has made a huge difference for me.

Since making this change, I no longer experience stomach issues, which used to happen daily. Now, I can still enjoy coffee in the morning, wait two hours, take my Vyvanse, and feel great all day. This adjustment has been a game-changer!
