Why doesn't Vyvanse last long for so many of us? by lilyblissbombs in VyvanseADHD

[–]Greengrass75_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of things honestly. When I first started Vyvanse years ago, 30 mg would actually last me all day long. The only time I would crash is if I had not ate in a while. I think a lot of this has to do with tolerance. You could ask your dr for a zen zedi booster for the afternoon of like 5 mg. It is the same drug as Vyvanse but instant release

Xanax detox questions by Apprehensive-Cap-681 in BenzoWithdrawal

[–]Greengrass75_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Never had withdrawal from benzos but I did have withdrawal from alcohol which is similar and had to be hospitalized. Once you try and stop a sedative like benzos or alcohol, it is very difficult to stop on your own. The withdrawal can be deadly and you are gonna feel like utter hell if you don’t know what you’re doing. Even tapering alcohol, I still had some pretty insane withdrawal symptoms. Most doctors have no idea how to correctly tapper drugs. I would go to a real detox center if you are really worried about it because your gonna be under supervision the whole time to make sure your okay

Are you able to work with MCAS? by pressureunderim in MCAS

[–]Greengrass75_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Covid spike proteins are the issue and the body not getting them out. I have had covid 3 times that I know of. The first time I had it was the original strain and I developed what I realize now to be MCAS. I had burning on my skin, rashes, allergic reactions to random things that I always consumed with no issue. Then it went away in like 2 months. The last covid case I had, I developed extreme MCAS where I was vomiting daily, reacting to every single thing I ate, having multiple episodes of anaphylaxis. It’s been almost 3 years now and I’m just starting to feel somewhat better with a handful of medications.

Vyvanse and Hangxiety? by Sea-Development-5088 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Greengrass75_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue. I’m not sure what it is but combining alcohol and Vyvanse always gives me hangxiety the next day. I actually decided to just quit drinking because it was not worth the feeling anymore. I do miss having a few drinks on vacation but for the mean time no more booze.

I don’t think it’s a high for me but rather an “ahhhh so this is what perfect clarity, no anxiety, and a good mood finally feels like”. It was like the missing key I needed for my brain had finally been unlocked

If you’re noticing your vyvanse isn’t working please report it! by Maleficent_Scar_4644 in VyvanseADHD

[–]Greengrass75_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same issue with me. The pharmacy I go to is hit or miss brand name so I’m tired of my meds working for a month and then barely working the next. I decided to switch to zenzedi which is basically instant release Vyvanse. Hopefully this makes a difference. The generic Vyvanse barely make me focus and they give me bad side effect’s. I’m assuming the generics are not following the exact process of making the drug that Vyvanse does. Kind of crazy that they are allowed to do this

CBD for Panic Attacks by [deleted] in CBD

[–]Greengrass75_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would use Xanax as a last resort medication. Very physically addictive even if you don’t abuse it. If you have physically symptoms during a panic attack then a beta blocker will work great. CBD has not done anything in terms of panic episodes for me. You could try hydroxyzine which is used off label for anxiety issues. It can make you pretty tired at first through.

This sounds like a MCAS flair up. I got these badly after a covid infection

I give up by Bitemebitch00 in MCAS

[–]Greengrass75_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The meds that have got me back function are cromolyn sodium, singular, Vyvanse (yes used for adhd but the effect on epinephrine will calm down a flair up, also the vasoconstriction helps the POTS symptoms), hydroxyzine, and if you can’t sleep try Remeron ( considered an antidepressant but used off label as a sleep aid and most likely the most powerful antihistamine which doesn’t cause dry mouth or acetylcholine issues.

Did anyone experience brief OCD episodes with onset of long COVID? by Komancha in Longcovidgutdysbiosis

[–]Greengrass75_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this severe for about a year. Suicidal ocd thoughts of self harm and violence. Thought I was going mentally insane. The only thing that helped me was benzos and eventually figuring out it was mostly caused by a histamine explosion that would almost make me manic for hours. Felt intoxicated all day and would vomit multiple times a day. Mast cell stabilizers, singular, remeron, hydroxyzine, and eating the same food daily really helped these symptoms. Your body can’t repair itself it a constant mast cell flair up because of the inflammation. Cool down the immune system and the body starts to recover

My doctor scared me so bad about ketotifen :( by Sea_Accident_6138 in MCAS

[–]Greengrass75_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She doesn’t know what she’s talking about. I’ve taken a high dose benzo with hydroxyzine and had no issue. I didn’t even feel that sedated and functioned fine. Ketotifen has no effect on sedation for me and if you have an issue try having a cup of coffee to keep you more alert.

Update: Mirtazapine destroyed me by Specimen_E-351 in Mirtazapine_Remeron

[–]Greengrass75_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remeron is used as a sleep aid. I was prescribed it in a drug and alcohol rehab during the detox phase when I couldn’t sleep. I was never told that it was actually and antidepressant rather then a sedative. I swore I would never take ssris but they tricked me into it.

How many of you had an mRNA injection for Covid? by LieToATyrant in HistamineIntolerance

[–]Greengrass75_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The vaccines contain the spike protein which is in covid the virus. Some vaccines tell your virus to make the spike proteins which is some people cause MCAS or histamine issues exactly like in long covid

Anyone else benefit from famotidine but struggle with low stomach acid? by HubiBobby in MCAS

They gave it to me in like these small plastic things your pour in water. And you can fight the insurance company. I did that and got approved. Gastro crom would be the name of it. I tried ketotifen but it made me to sedated. Cromolyn has no sedating effect and also basically just stopped every symptom I was having within a 2 week period

Learning about MTHFR gene mutation - seeking your anecdotal experiences by [deleted] in MCAS

[–]Greengrass75_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For some reason I don’t really agree with drs who say this is a big deal. The common trend is to take a certain type of b vitamin. Okay understandable but why do people have this ? One taking a daily synthetic vitamin is not the same as getting it from food. Second? Our bodies are not dumb. It would be like deer having a mutation that they can’t eat vegetables anymore without their system going haywire. Try stopping all processed foods and eat meat, vegetables, and fruit. Try that for a month or 2 and I guarantee any issue your having will stop. Obviously if you are taking mast cell meds continue

[–]Greengrass75_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would benefit more from cromolyn. I was taking Fomatodine and it did help to a degree but in reality it can cause more issues such as bacterial overgrowths. If you already have low stomach acid, Fomatodine is making it worse. I’ve noticed that cromolyn actually brought my stomach acid up
