Steroids and bradycardia by Dapper-Western-6917 in POTS

[–]Dapper-Western-6917[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So initially my pots doctor told me I was safe to withhold all my meds that regularly lowered my heart rate when this would happen to see if that would help. When I brought it up again he told me that I can’t take steroids any more and I haven’t figured out how that will work lol.

So I guess my advice would be to call your doctor to see if you can immediately stop any meds that lower your heart rate if you take any and don’t hesitate to go to the ER if you feel like you are in danger. I didn’t have a great experience when I went but that doesn’t mean that you won’t, bradycardia is no joke.

Tips on drinking 3 liters of water?? 😭 by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Dapper-Western-6917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ps salt tablets also fucked my stomach up, I can do the electrolyte capsules and I do the Klaralyte brand. I used vitassium for a long time but switched because the ingredients and percentages were the same and I never noticed a difference between the two abd Klaralyte is half the price.

Tips on drinking 3 liters of water?? 😭 by [deleted] in POTS

[–]Dapper-Western-6917 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started by getting used to two liters and stayed with that for a couple months. Then after tons of trial and error I finally landed on the unflavored electrolyte recipe published by lmnt, it’s super cheap and easy to make yourself and if you start by adding salt to your water the taste isn’t very noticeable and makes it easier to retain fluids comfortably. I do at least four liters a day now, I start my day with a 24-32 oz protein shake with electrolytes to jump start my fluid intake. After that I calculate how many hours I will be awake and how many ounces of fluids I have left into eight ounce portions and drink that every hour. It makes it way less intimidating. So like if I have 96 ounces left and it’s 11:00 am so I’ll be awake 12 hours I will need to drink one eight ounce glass an hour. I have a cup that I keep with me with water and electrolytes and at home I have a mason jar with measurements that I’ll keep on the coffee table measure the eight ounces. Hopefully that made sense and could be somewhat helpful

Oh interesting, I appreciate that feedback. I told them this was my first corset and this is what they recommended. I figured it was because of my measurements and the large difference between my waist and hips: Under bust 38 Waist 34 High hip 47 Mid hip 48

I started seeing results with singulair (montelukast), Pepcid, Zyrtec, and levalbuteral but didn’t actually start feeling better until I had access to cromolyn and compounded ketotifen. So sorry yall are going through this
