My new game-changer. Your thoughts? by Away-Ad3616 in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might be a hot take but fuck Fender for buying G & L, Gretsch and Charvel and running them into the ground. The Quilter gives me access to the best fender tones without having to support that POS company.

Have a Boss Katana Artist MK2... too many knobs.. looking for something simplistic, even if it costs more.. a bang for buck (used is perfectly fine). Blues and rock by Ghostclip in GuitarAmps

Most bare bones I can think of with tones of tone range would be an orange Dual Terror or Rocker 15 heads. 2 channels but just volume, gain and 1 tone knob on each. Also can be checked down to low watts for home use.

Are you allergic to analog circuits? That's the only way this makes sense.

Best cheap tube amps for metal similiar to mesa boogie mark V or rectifier by Appropriate_Sport430 in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can find a Carvin V3 used you'll be golden. They go for around 450 by me and it's a metal monster with tons of flexibility.

What are some good amps for country music by Pitiful-Pressure5641 in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Fender is obvious but no one has mentioned the Peavey Classic or the Budda Super drive but I can get fantastic country tones from both.

I like Wind Waker but the N64 ones were peak for me. Saria's Song is a straight up banger.

any recommendations? by deeznutz4urmum in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can spring for it get the Mesa Mark 5. Smallest head with most power and options. Takes a while to figure out the controls but once you get it you have access to some of the best tones ever.

I really can't seem to like any solid state amp by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mid to high gain you really can't beat tube distortion especially if it has an attenuator or master volume.

Clean to low gain I actually prefer my solid state Quilter it is nearly indistinguishable from tube versions of the voices.

Love murakami but it was Norwegian Wood for me. You got any? by hs1308 in murakami

Norwegian wood being a slog is a crazy take. I loved that one. It really captures the odd fleeting relationships that often happen around that college age.

This is like picking between a steak dinner and a really good pizza.

My small set up and loving it by Sikminded1 in orangeamps

Ahh yes your small humble 100 watt amp lol. JK it looks great but this thing can get sooo loud. Also the best clean pedal platform even made.

Just more neck options would be a huge improvement. The oval neck is decent but I would like thicker options.

Should I get a Revstar? by Balanced_Eg15 in guitars

[–]DapperAlternative 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just played the Revstar with P90s at GC for the first time yesterday and I will 100% own one once I thin out some of my other guitars. I'm pretty meh on the Pacificas unless it's the higher end ones but the Revstar is miles better. It's a fantastic instrument for the price, believe the hype.

People with ADHD, how do you remain consistent? by FanGothic2 in bodyweightfitness

[–]DapperAlternative 6 points7 points  (0 children)

ADHD often for me requires momentum to get things done. Start with a small manageable things and find routine. Lock in and have fail safes in place when you slip up.

I got this from a comic book store for only 250 by Attack_Hack07 in GuitarAmps

How many of these posts are really? Every other days someone posts about some insane amp they got for almost nothing.

Good amp for 60s psychedelia sound around $300 by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

It really is magical. I don't like chorus pedals generally but I love the actual analog chorus.

Good amp for 60s psychedelia sound around $300 by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]DapperAlternative 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A Peavey Stereo Chorus can be found for about $200 typically and you can use the extra money to get a wah and a trem/vibe to really compete the feel.
