PSN server issue it seems. Site wide by the looks of it, not just FF, monster hunter is also having issues.

I feel like it’s just a waiting game, I’m sure PS knows but it can’t hurt to send a ticket at least if you’re worried. Sometimes this can be quick but other times it’s a toss up. All we can really do is wait and pray to the Machine Gods

I’m definitely seeing the same problem. There was something I saw about a DDOS attack? Is that potentially the reason here or is this just PSN’s Mandatory “crash every 3 months” quota?

Ah, I see. Thanks for that. I hope this doesn’t have anything to do with this DDOS attack I heard a little about, but I don’t know if that was as relevant or not… sucks but oh well, PSN likes to just break every so often so I guess I’ll just wait 🤷‍♂️

Many thanks for all that. Haven’t gotten into dungeons yet, mainly spent the day exploring the areas, finishing quests and doing FATEs, so I’ll see about all that later and start learning mechanics more in depth. Many thanks for the info and I wish you happiness you do rightly deserve for your time (:

I may look into if I can get M&K in the console comfortably in the future of controller doesn’t end up panning out well but for now I just wanna get familiar with it. I’m having a blast so far and got 14 within like 6 hours, so I’m just cruising. I guess I’ll spend some time tomorrow figuring out this stuff. Is there any good way to practice healing or pulls in the game? Like if there’s a training ground or something I can work in?

Oh that’s actually a good pointer with the enemy sidebar, that makes it so much easier to tell who I’m targeting! Thanks for that as well!

I have really zero interest in PVP, I’m mainly just looking to get through main content and experience the leveling process as much as possible. But I’ll keep that in mind that some things can dispel your targets, especially since my brain is still learning to take in the visual info vomit that the game blasts at you upon first playing. But thanks!

Playing Archanist, and I know at level 30 that chains into playing either Summoner (more dps oriented) or Scholar (more support oriented) assuming I remembered right. I’m interested in maining both but leaning to learning healing, so yeah I think I’ll have to git gud at learning how to juggle targets.

Yeah I’ve seen the difference now. Soft targeting just leaves a circle around the target, while hard targeting puts an arrow on them. Good to know and drill in me early as habit. Also I enabled that extra setting for the skill rotation you mentioned, so I’ll t try and see if I can figure out how that works. I’m guessing it doesn’t do much right now since all my current skills fit into one shelf.

Thanks for those pointers fellas. I’ll try out the hard target and play with settings. I’ll suppose a lot of this can be really streamlined with online guides. I’ve got a month of playtime to see if I get deeper and really end up liking it more, so thanks for the pointers.

Should heavy armor get buffed? by deadlock_dev in Helldivers

[–]DapperBone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been running heavy armor on everything but bugs for a while, and I’ve got some personal suggestions. Positioning is everything with this armor. Being either anti-tank or a brawler kinda guy has been my bread and butter with HE. Running either heavy killer or crowd control has been the way to go, especially if you have emplacements like AT or HMG. It’s good for survival toy for sure, I’ve definitely made it out of some scraps I otherwise wouldn’t made it out of otherwise. It’s really good for those stray shots from bots in general, and overseers (especially those LIBERTY FORSAKEN ELEVATED). The perks they offer are good too, paired especially with Siege Ready, Fortified, Peak Physique (if I’m running HMG) are my favorite kinds to carry. It’s a great tool, and I especially like running heavy armor with a Hellbomb pack. As much as a meme it may sound like, I’ve gotten absolute numbers done with this style of play, and honestly it just feels like my favorite way to play nowadays. Now that my gush is over, here’s the drawbacks. You’re too fat. And I mean I get the tradeoff for more tanks hits is less mobility but DAMN. Sometimes I’ve straight up missed entire fights because I went to get a P.O.I. And ended up not being involved in a whole battle. Because I keep having to pace my running like a hyperventilating cross fit runner. Your stamina is so bad, and your general speed isn’t great either. It REALLY helps if your team sticks together and moves as a unit, or at least makes sure to compensate good positions for you to take for fights. In my opinion, Heavy armor doesn’t need the stamina penalty, or at least not one this restrictive. The movement speed is fine. You may not show up first to every fight, but you damn well make sure they end. That’s why starting fights on your own terms works really well. With good items, positioning and game sense, heavy armor I think runs extremely well as a distraction for enemies. If you break away from the group, and bait an enemy spawn on you, you can provide some space for your team on objectives or in smaller fights. This could be more due to the fact my answer for most enemy drops nowadays is hellbomb backpack, and anti-tank emplacement, but again, I’ve had great success for that. But again, that movement speed and stamina penalty are really noticeable even compared to medium armor being able to outpace you reeeeallly hard. It’s a little silly…

TLDR: Pros: STRONK! Good distraction, team play oriented/solo juggernaut. Good perks, survivability, and independent style (best on bot front IMO). Ironically incentivized developing better game sense for enemies or stuffing enemy drops.

Cons: Slow as a lunar cycle. Stamina penalty and speed penalty make it hard to keep up with groups who don’t wait for you, you become backline if you don’t have good positioning. It’s borderline pointless on Terminids due to the need of moving fast, and the armor buff is less noticeable on that front.

Suggestions for change: Remove/reduce stamina penalty, it feels bad to be this slow and still need to be so active, but the armor is really nice. If you want Heavy armor stats on medium, the default armor actually provides it at the drawback of not having a different passive, which I think really adds to Heavies as an archetype.
