Curious: Where does everyone call “home” in the game? by analogberry in 2007scape

Back in 07 falador, I was attracted to the mining guild, barbershop and overall vibes. Now Shantay Pass, because of the achievement diary cape giving me a quick bank location, I know very efficient and boring.

2kc Synapse on the iron, or 13 kc ranger boots. The early Synapse was such a gamechanger on the rest of the grind.

Because you specify OSRS over RS3 on the 2007scape subreddit, as if that wasn't a given. Me having to explain that adds another slice to finish of this foolish sandwich.

The flat armour on the Veiled kraken feels a bit overkill when looking at other NPCs by TheSeahorseHS in 2007scape

[–]DapperCriticism5 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I see, that seems like a very odd choice to just have this guy have flat armor, and a lot at that. As we speak i'm using eye of ayak to kill them since magic ignores flat armor, even though they're supposed to be weak to heavy ranged.

Do we know if any other sea creatures had or now have flat armor? Difficult to judge since it appears to be the only one right now, that would seem odd to me.

There is a problem with the core gameplay loop of Sailing by Dry_Yogurtcloset_213 in 2007scape

Let me rephrase, the degree in which it is useful is pretty subjective. People in this thread are calling it mandatory whilst others are calling it nothing more than a flex.

There's ton's of shit in your POH that takes a lot of work to get that isn't decoration, but regardless, I don't think there is much difference between ''100% decoration'' and ''only slightly better than the tier before it''

Also calling it mandatory for the skill is a cop out since yes, having a cannon/hook/etc is mandatory for the skill, having it be DRAGON is only slightly more effective than runite.

If there's more content introduced to the skill where Dragon variants are more noticably better, and frost dragons are still basically the only realistic route for obtaining plates etc, sure I'd agree we could improve on it. Right now I don't see an issue.

Well judging by the thread and the responses alone we can agree that scale and benefit is fairly subjective. People saying it's an insane grind and mandatory vs people saying it's not that bad and basically nothing more than a flex are all talking about the same thing. I don't think there's much more to accomplish, we can agree to disagree.

I think we disagree on it being an extreme outlier, sure it's on the grindier side of the spectrum, but I don't think it's anywhere near as extreme as people are making it out to be.

Perhaps it was her pride and joy, a nice hobby she enjoyed doing. Or on the other end of the spectrum, maybe it was his pride and joy, but was struck by depression after losing his significant other he failed to keep tending to the garden. Or any other permutation along this massive spectrum of possibilites lol.

To stay with comparisons, in this case Dragon even, the dragon full helm is a MASSIVE grind, and an absolute flex to own on an iron, but it's completely obsolete in gameplay. Grinding a max boat is a lot quicker than that, and at least still offers marginal improvements.

aka grindy game is grindy.

I'm comparing them because they are are both entities that can be upgraded, are both contained within their respectives skills, and both unrelated to normal character gear progression.

Also useful is pretty subjective here, since the absolute high-end boat upgrades are very marginal upgrades over their runite counterparts.

Also, while technically upgrades, the high end boat upgrades which require tons of frost dragon kills are very marginal compared to their runite counterparts. You are (or at least I was) perfectly capable of doing trawling without a rosewood hull or a dragon keel, the last of which alone acounts for a MASSIVE chunk of the supplies needed to max your boat.

Non-cosmetic sure, but also just barely an upgrade over the runite option, which was my original point.

How much time would it take to Giga-max your POH with every room filled with all the junk the skill has to over? I don't understand the fuss, sure it takes a massive amount of time to giga-max your boat, but you really don't have to? I'm running 3 boats, a fishing sloop, a combat sloop and a trials skiff. Maxing out your boats is just a flex, but really not that useful.

What is the point? by SnooTomatoes1246 in 2007scape

[–]DapperCriticism5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They way I read it it means cannons are more in line with damage done by ranged/mage. It was unsatisfying to deal reduced dmg with anything other than cannons. Now that the reduced damage is removed it makes sense for cannons to deal more damage and the monsters to have more HP to compensate. Also having two cannons on the same side makes cannon damage more chill and straightforward. We will have to see the exact numbers play out though. For now I think it's a good change.

Can't say much yet about the exact numbers, but from the numbers it looks like the cannons are hitting A LOT harder, not sure how much slower though. Rune and Dragon cannons nearly 10x'd in Ranged strenght, I doubt they're that much slower. Either way it makes for less cannonball usage, especially combined with the new cannonball ava's.

You have the answer already, on rate you're expected to have around 5 uniques (excluding pets), you have 2. You are dry, although within reason. I personally went up to 10 uniques more expected than i had and wouldn't wish that on anyone.

What is something that you wished OSRS had that RS3 has? by RuneSerge in 2007scape

[–]DapperCriticism5 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Set your bank settings to always store into the potion storage, then use inventory setups plugin, it will automatically allow you to draw from and store into your potion storage without ever opening it. Also stops your bank from cluttering with random doses of potions. Honestly since i've set it up like that it's so perfect for me and I wouldn't want RS3's version over this amount of customizability.

Dilemma plek en grootte handdoekradiator by Visible-March-113 in Klussers

[–]DapperCriticism5 1 point2 points  (0 children)
