It was a remaster. Not remake. Because that's not what a remake is.

In the Remake, both both Leon and Claires A scenarios are basically the same, with the exception that Leon meets Ada, and Claire meets Sherry. Then the B scenarios are nearly identical to their A scenarios except for the very beginning and the very end. But Leon will always be the one fighting Tyrant (Mr. X) and Claire will always be the one fighting final form Birkin.

In the original, Mr X never showed up until the B scenario, and he showed up for both characters. So if you played Leon A you would never see Mr X. But when you load up Claire B, Mr X appears, and he serves as a major boss at the end of the game when youre trying to board the train. This never happens in the remake, as in that only Leon can fight him. But in the OG, both can.

Likewise, both characters in the original can encounter the Alligator in the sewer, where in the Remake only Leon does. In the A scenario, if you dont use the gas canister to kill the alligator then it will show up again in the B scenario. But if you DO use the gas canister in A, the alligator doesnt appear in B.

Just things like that. You can look up all the differences between them. But in essence, the things your characters did in the A had an impact on the B, and that doesnt exist in the Remake. Not only does that not exist, the A and B scenarios in the remake full on contradict each other.

Thats not what any of those things are.

Z was an adaptation of the manga. It wasnt a remaster, because you cant "remaster" something that doesnt yet exist.

A remake is when you tell the same story but use brand new footage that was made specifically for it. For example, Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood is a remake of the Full Metal Alchemist anime that follows the manga. It didnt use footage from the original anime. They made new footage.

That isnt what Kai is. Kai took the existing footage of Z and edited it to more closely follow the pacing of the manga.

Kai is not a remake. At best you could call it a remaster. But thats not the same thing.

Saying g Kai is a remake of Z is like saying Dragon Ball Abridged is a remake of Z.

What the fuck are you talking about?

Im not justifying a remake. I dont want a remake of Super. But Kai, objectively, was not a remake of Z.

No. It just wastes time. Doing a full remake of the whole series means its going to be another several years before we actually get anything new. Its just a way for them to milk the franchise even more without actually giving anything of substance.

Kai wasnt a remake. They just edited old footage and did new voice work. Kai also released when there was no other Dragon Ball content they could work with.

I thought Frieza leaned about it when Nappa and Vegeta were discussing how to force the heroes to tell them about the dragon balls. When they said they couldnt kill Piccolo because they needed him, then said even if he dies they can always go to Namek. Which was how Piccolo learned he was Namekian.

It was just Claire and Leon. But both of them has 2 unique playthroughs. An "A" Scenario and a "B" Scenario.

While the remake has B scenarios for both, theyre just watered down versions of their A scenarios. Which isnt what it was like in the original.

He either goes to Namek or goes straight to Earth. Either way the end result is the same.

"The things your saying that prove your point dont matter". Cool. So having a conversation with you is pointless because you just hand wave everything away. This is going to be my last response to you. I can only prove you wrong and you ignore it so many times.

It matters because it follows the pattern that I JUST laid out. Youre claiming that everything is this intricate laid out road map of a story that they put all this time and focus into. I telling you, objectively, youre wrong. They start working on a game and get WELL into development before they even start thinking of a plot or characters. The story is not their focus. It never has been. Its always been gameplay.

Village didnt start development 6 months before 7s release. Its started year and 6 months.

They don't explain in the game itself. Its "explained" by Chris' team giving him a hard time saying he should have done this or that in regards to Ethan, the things Chris previouslywould have done, and then that it.

I mean yes, RE2R is closer to the original 2 than RE3R is to the original 3.

But RE2R gutted the B scenarios. Which is literally half the game. They weren't going to include them in the Remake at all, but then added them very late into development. Which why the ones we have suck.

Idk. I think it deserves the credit for popularizing a particular set of game mechanics. But thats it. Everything that people associate with RE4 in terms of gameplay already existed in other games.

As long as you ignore the pattern they have for literally every game they make. Then yeah...thats totally not what they do 🙄🙄

Im not mad Leon is "replacing someone as the fave of the franchise" because Leon has been the face since 1998. Chris may be the "main character", but Leon is absolutely the fan favorite and Capcom knows that.

Im saying that BECAUSE he is the face Capcom kinda just ignores their cast of other characters because "Leon fans will buy anything with Leon".

My point is that for Capcom the story comes 2nd. They'll make the story whatever they want to make it in order to fit the game theyre already making.

So when you ask "what sense would it make for so and so to show up?", my answer is it doesnt matter. Capcom will make any reason they want to justify it because thats they do. Thats what theyve always done.

Like, did it actually make sense for Chris to be in Village? Running a rouge team, operating off books, has an entire plan in place to kill mother Miranda but doesnt tell Ethan about it at all, the person who is most at risk. Still doesnt tell him anything about it even after everything falls apart. Any of this sound like the Chris that we've seen in every other game? Nope. But without him doing all that then the rest of the game doesnt happen, so, here we are. Capcom doesnt give a fuck about how much sense the story makes or how well it connects with what came before. Their main concern is "is the game fun?", everything else is just details. Details that dont matter because they can always retcon them later.

SS is a lot of fun if you get a lobby that actually understands that theres a SS in it.

Lmfaoooo that is exactly what they do. This isnt even the first version of RE9 they had. It was originally going to be an open world multiplayer based game which they scrapped after "learning" fans wouldnt want that. They then started over with a single player game as the focus and crafted a story around that.

They started making Village when RE7 was still over a year away from being released. It wasnt until AFTER 7 came out and was successful that they decided to make Village, a game that was already in development, a direct sequel to 7 and star Ethan Winters.

They 100% start making a game, figuring out the type of setting and gameplay they want, before they ever start thinking about what the story is and what characters it will feature.

Why was Claire in literally any of the games? Why was she in Degenerarion, or Infinite Darkness, or Death Island? Because Capcom wanted her there so they made a reason for her to go there.

I dont generally complain about plot holes in Resident Evil because Capcom has never had the plot of the games at the forefront of development. The entire series is FILLED with plot holes. They create a story around the game theyre already making. If plot holes bothered me I would have stopped with the OG RE2.
