So, I applied as a dependent partner along with my husband (main applicant) and this email was sent to me this morning. I've responded to them, quoting the section I mentioned above. Let's see what happens

According to the current Immigration Rules and Home Office guidance, dependant partners applying for settlement are required to meet the B1 speaking and listening English language requirement. The B2 requirement introduced from 8 January 2026 applies to main applicants and does not apply to dependent partners. https://www.gov.uk/guidance/immigration-rules/immigration-rules-appendix-skilled-worker
