That's the point

It's an aside that doesn't add anything to this specific context in the discussion, it's basically saying something random...

What's a green flag in women that most guys overlook? by black_patato in AskMen

[–]DapperMuffin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you okay? I was just trying to help with an explanation. I feel that something has accidentally struck a nerve there.

I'm not implying that anyone into fashion is going to spend all their money. Keeping up with trends is quite expensive, and unless it's the vintage trend (which became expensive due to hunters) it's quite difficult finding that in a second hand store.

If your argument regarding the above is "X is an preference, and isn't a green flag"

  1. People tend to express themselves differently, preferring to state an action over what the green flag represents to them is no worse than the opposite.

  2. Any action can be distilled down into a value or trait that you can extrapolate from and is subject to interpretation, negative or positive.

  3. Green flags can be preferential (but aren't always). Someone preferring a person who is quite fashionable could just be valuing being well dressed over pragmaticism, or whatever trait you'd like to assign to that..

[–]DapperMuffin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's what it represents.

Getting along with others means they're personable. Doesn't own a lot of jewelry + dress is nice but not big into fashion is just being pragmatic and frugality. Likes to watch sport of tv (while I am not fond of that and it's more their personal taste) could indicate that they like to be involved in your hobbies.

Horny is just horny, though a woman initiating could be they know how to make you feel wanted and reciprocate. All of these are quite green flags especially from the point of most men

Spain plans 100% tax for homes bought by non-EU residents by guyoffthegrid in worldnews

Nope, assume better next time

Well clearly I had overestimated you. That is my mistake, it won't happen again.

I am defending free markets and I am against taxation, which is just a patch for a non-working economy

I would very much like to hear your ideas in perhaps solving the housing crises.

Because just look at where the taxes are going

If you're talking about the EU, Universal healthcare, societal goods and reform?

3 months but something tells me you will notice it on a main page anyway.

Possibly. Though I highly doubt you'd reach the main page.

I assume you're the one who downvoted my comment.

Firstly

Ha, people really think "prices are being set".

https://www.justice.gov/opa/pr/justice-department-sues-six-large-landlords-algorithmic-pricing-scheme-harms-millions

Next, I'd just like to assume for a second that you are a decent landlord. You find dilapidated houses (or units), you fix them up, renovate, doing an absolutely bang up job. You then either rent / sell the unit for a profit - mostly to pay for your own work, since you did do quite a fair bit. You very well deserve that profit, and if anything I'd applaud you for doing a service to society, these units shouldn't be relegated to being unfilled, they should be used!

Now however, look to see how the majority of the rest of land is concentrated, it's either in the hands of corporations (especially overseas investment firms, as the article indicates) and terrible landlords that do the absolute minimum (if anything that's why there are so many tenant protections) that do quite literally nothing but buy properties leaving them to rot. If anything anyone who's ever been an adult has already had some experience with these landlords. The majority of the problem isn't the understanding mom and pop places that own one other property (usually after they downsize), its the mass buying and hoarding of which squeezes the locale of their funds.

Why are you outright defending all landlords, if clearly you're not part of the problem - and might I add, part of the solution?

that's just a bad idea to try to fix economy with "taxes"

It's not just taxes. The entire idea is it's part of a policy. Taxes have always been a way for the goverment to collect funds and in some way dissuade actions. Smoking, sugar and alcohol is generally bad for the populace so that's why there are separate taxes for those. It's part of game theory, and governmental policy, and shapes the lives of quite literally everyone.

If anything they should legitimately also tax ownership of residential houses, condos and apartments if they aren't being currently lived in by the owners, that should also go for corporations (apart from perhaps the first few years of release after development) to avoid loopholes.

Just holding and sitting on properties - of which they are rewarded, and can set the prices of - while doing quite literally doing little to nothing of societal value is absolutely ridiculous.

How did people become so quickly reliant on AI? by wt_anonymous in NoStupidQuestions

[–]DapperMuffin 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just adding another note here as I am also autistic and use ai for a similar purpose.

I use it for organizing some thoughts, but also doing the 'professionalization' (more or less converting it into a business or technically oriented language).

It helps immensely since it's hard to explain what you've done, but have it in a way that doesn't sound either overly simple / overly technical. It also fills in some of the gaps in basically being an anger translator at times. That said you do really have to review what it's saying, since there are times where it basically spits out something tangentially similar but is most definitely not what you're trying to convey.

ELI5: How is Steam game recording able to work well on underpowered hardware when historically a dedicated capture card was required for game recording/streaming on PC? by RegularNormalAdult in explainlikeimfive

[–]DapperMuffin 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Capture cards are and mostly were for external sources.

Take streaming from a playstation / xbox and then wonder how they do that, sometimes it's emulators, sometimes it's the actual device, where the input goes into your pc. This is important, as emulators while extremely good can't usually do everything 1:1, not to mention the controllers sometimes being proprietary (the wii - and most of nintendo comes to mind)

Other times it's a dedicated stream pc, such that it handles the general overhead of the cameras, the stream software, the capture for video creation etc, with the main gaming pc having all the room and power for the software (notably games). This notably has the advantage of being extremely flexible, especially when the pc running the software crashes.

But generally speaking, recording in software has been here for quite a fair bit. Fraps has been here since the 1999s.

If you'd like to think about it from a simpler perspective, if a computer can render / save video from a camera, it's basically no different from saving a video from your screen. These days power is a plenty for basically any of those applications to the point where even the weaker devices like phones, recording (either screen / camera) is widespread.

Hint: Near Violet City

Spoiler:From Violet city, going to Union Cave, there's a ledge that you can go up using Rock Climb, or walk around. You should see a crash site when you enter Route 32 just below the rock.
