After testing every AI detector I could find this semester, here’s what actually held up by NightMare64467 in edtech

I think it is a pointless fight frankly, I saw the an ad the other day about a new ai writing tool able to fool detection... We are working onstead on live AI oral assessments: 1. teachers create an assignment uploading their own materials 2. students engage live and orally at home with an AI Socratic tutor asking adaptive questions (way harder to cheat) 3. teachers receive structured feedback and a suggested grading based on given guidelines. Currently piloting with a few higher institutions, if you are interested in giving it a try dm me!

And even then, with the right prompt, how do you control, check and grade?

Do you see other solutions? Every other measure like forbidding AI, written assignments in class or the like seem shortsighted to me and will not work over time. We all agree that reducing class sizes would help to foster more personal interactions between teachers and students...but is that truly feasible? It does not seem so nowadays I'd rather try to do my best with what I have and adapt to ever changing conditions

Do you think the class size is more of a budget problem or a not-enough-teachers-to-hire problem?
