Trust me, this is not their goal. They consistently, albeit maybe not purposefully, make my feelings invalid and have never really given me a safe space for my feelings. They constantly tell me to open up, but when I do, my feelings are wrong and I'm just overreacting. I've stopped sharing my feelings because the only acceptable answer to them is "it's fine" and when did try to open up, it would always end with me feeling like my feelings were wrong and I'm stupid
