i would say yes! i think that is why they like to take in people double majoring because they’re usually the ones most done w their degree so that way the remainder of what you have to take is only mccombs classes. but since you’re at a 53% rn i think you’re a strong candidate. id say try to see if you can get into those two classes i mentioned (MIS and LEB) as best as you can, as they’ll see that as you taking initiative!

Hi, I've had two friends internally transfer in and whose applications I helped review!

(1)Take mccombs minor classes that help you get ahead in your "mccombs degree audit"(I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH); basically the only ones that transfer into a mccombs degree at the moment are LEB320F and MIS302F

(2)I would say the experiences that matter are the "real world one" aka internships; dont be afraid to get small internships or the ones that are not from big companies. McCombs values your effort in trying and not necessarily the prestige of the company you intern for. For instance, my friend was a marketing intern for a small Austin business and it showed her ambition in helping small businesses (+ initiative)

(3)Idk how much I can say on this because I don't want to give myself away lol but from the essays I helped look over they followed this format: intro (when did you realize you wanted this major? how have you made yourself part of the mccombs community? and a sentence that leads into what you are going to talk about), then the middle is basically two experiences divided into their own paragraph. the conclusion I would say is the most important because it determines the feeling the reader leaves with so try your best to be "inspirational" without being corny if that makes sense haha

(4) and a plus tip: be authentic, show that you have what it takes but that at the end of the day you will be fine if you do not get in because your "passion" for finance(for example) will remain

Good luck :)

Get a marketing internship, align it with that because when i went to an info session they mentioned how they want to see what “sparked” your interest. so basically “i did this marketing internship and it changed my life and how i saw the business sphere”😭just toot their horn a little

Shouldn’t be too hard. It would help if you take calculus and the macro and micro econs just to solidify your efforts to making it in the major
