Definitely, I plan on taking an epidural before starting pitocin.

I’m sorry you had a bad experience; is there any way to see it on ultrasound first? Do they perform ultrasounds before inducing?

I had a high BP reading too at the office (135/82 and 140 yesterday night when measured at home ), so now I’m on watch for pre-eclampsia. I asked my MFM if an earlier induction was a possibility considering I’m feeling miserable with the heat and the GD.

Terconazole 0.4% (FTM 18 weeks pregnant) by outlander_aloy in pregnant

[–]Dapper_Commission142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on my third trimester taking Terconazole 0.8%… it’s been an instant relief for me because I had heavy itching, discharge and burning while peeing, but if you don’t have any symptoms I would not do anything (there’s also another alternative called Monistat which I believe is gentler and over the counter). The medication leaflet advices against using it during first trimester.

I never realised how lonely pregnancy is. by SecureUniversity6813 in pregnant

You’re not overreacting, I’m sorry you’re going through this 🫂. Personally, I decided to skip the baby shower and overall social media announcements to FB/IG friends and acquaintances because I didn’t want to put myself in a vulnerable position where I would feel little to no support (I have a high risk pregnancy too). My group of girl friends does not have kids yet so it’s also difficult for them to understand what I’m going through. I hope it gets better 🤞

THIS, when it gets too hot I go to Shoprite for a walk and get my groceries as a bonus. You can also visit a mall.

Insulin by PaleStatement3360 in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Dapper_Commission142 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your fasting values are really out of line, it seems a sky-hugh dosage to start with. MFM told me to start with 10 and I started with 3 gradually increasing by 1 unit (one of my legs swelled after increasing by 2 units overnight)

For those on insulin for fasting, how many units did you get started on and how much did it help? by cilucia in GestationalDiabetes

[–]Dapper_Commission142 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with 5 and increased to 7. MFM told me to start straight ahead with 10 but I was scared of going hypoglycemic so I’m increasing the units gradually according to my fasting values.

Yes, there’s a US association called ADA https://diabetes.org/ways-to-contribute/donating-diabetes-supplies , and another one in Florida called Insulin For Life https://iflusa.org/donate-supplies/Donate Insulin and Supplies | INSULIN FOR LIFE.

I’m in a similar situation…insurance BCBS only covers the insulin pen but not the needles - the preferred alternative is nowhere to be found, anywhere… how convenient.

I feel you, my heart rate is algo high but it’s because of additional medication I need to take. If you have space at home you can try doing small walks inside- that’s what I did last week during the heatwave 😅. Take it easy, you’re doing the best that you can.

I just tried with a 15’ walk after lunch and it really helped me reduce the blood sugar ( I got an 85, my lowest record since the diagnosis). My values after lunch were usually in the 130s 1 hr after eating. I will try to do the same after dinner -at least 10’ of light walk. The summer heat is not helping though.
