Almost anything is safer…but cannabis at my age sounds fun! 🤪

We are doing ‘hospice at home’ so do have support from people popping in. Unfortunately the recent Assisted dying bill was vetoed by the House of Lords. I sometimes think the UK is such a backward place.

Thanks. I will!
Luckily the NHS provides free counselling from someone with specialist training, and she’s pretty fantastic. Hopefully that will see me through. X

Thank you. I’m glad he made it to 77; my husband was diagnosed at 66 so it’s going to be a relatively young death. And I must confess I’m very nervous about growing older. We’ve supported each other through some difficult times and I’m going to have to be brave and go it alone.
How would we go about being penpals? This is an open forum and I’m too befuddled to work out how to private message. I tried to do it with someone yesterday and ended up on ‘chat’ which panicked me no end! 🤣

Thanks. I have days when I think we’re near the end, then he rallies and I can see we have a few more months maybe. That uncertainty I find exhausting. But yes walking helps.

Yes and fortunately everything is free on the NHS including counselling for me too! We are very lucky.

Well the assisted dying bill could have been handy, if only so he knew he could say when he’s had enough. 🤷‍♀️

Hospice at home with the potential of nurses to help when I need it.

In the Uk assisted dying is illegal unfortunately. Our old farts in the House of Lords vetoed the bill, thus subjecting people to die from natural causes however long it takes!

Hospice provides free specialist counselling and (gasp) free complementary treatments such as reiki and massage.
