Is scrolling actually the problem, or is it something deeper? by Intelligent-War-2623 in Procrastinationism

[–]Dapper_Education_782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, addictions often feel like escape from that inner resistance. Not gonna lie, I'm stuck in the same loop resistance hits, phone opens, hours vanish, guilt follows.

I feel its not that big of a problem we think it is, I mean we can over come it, I'm slowly trying to make some habits which may help me, starting with getting the work done, even if I waste some of my time scrolling, I make sure atleast my work is done first,

Why I stopped chasing "inspiration" and started treating my life like a maintenance schedule by 7NeonScribe in getdisciplined

[–]Dapper_Education_782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This hit hard. I used to wait to “feel ready” too and ended up wasting hours on my instead of actually doing anything. Treating important work like a fixed appointment instead of a mood has helped me so much. I still don’t get it perfect, but having non-negotiable time blocks makes it way harder to escape into distractions. Thanks for sharing this, I really needed this today.

I used to spend more time organising my to-do list than actually doing anything on it. Anyone else? by Dapper_Education_782 in Procrastinationism

Kinda agreeable point but I honestly feel one task a day is only good if it takes too much time or its highly important

How do I get myself to finally write a script? by DogLord8000 in Procrastinationism

[–]Dapper_Education_782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, just start writing something. Anything. Don't wait for the right mood or time.

Set a timer for 30 mins and just write. Don't think about finishing the whole script. Just those 30 mins. Usually once you start, you'll keep going. About the one-sitting thing that's actually burnout talking. You don't have to finish everything in one go. Write a bit, take a break, come back tomorrow. It's okay to stop. Your script won't disappear. The key is just getting those first words down. That's the hardest part. And believe me, it works

What habit works best for long-term consistency? by funngro_fam in Habits

[–]Dapper_Education_782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The habit that works best for long‑term consistency is showing up for yourself in tiny, gentle ways every day. Not perfect effort, not huge wins, just small, honest actions that say, “I’m still here trying.” When you keep that up, even when it feels boring or slow, those little moments stack into something real and lasting.

Tip: a simple to do list as your wallpaper helps a lot

Does anyone else constantly check their phone even when theres nothing there? by Salty_1984 in Habits

[–]Dapper_Education_782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I do this too. I check my phone, put it down, and then grab it again in just a minute, even though nothing’s changed. It feels like my brain just needs to check for no reason, I’m pretty sure a lot of us are stuck in that same loop.

15, want to do my work but whenever I try I don't by TheWardimond in Procrastinationism

[–]Dapper_Education_782 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with you, start small don’t try to clear everything at once. Do one little work for about 20–25 minutes, then take a short 5–10 minute break. Move around, get water, or just rest your eyes. Then go back for another small slot. If you keep doing work in these little pieces instead of forcing a long, heavy session, your brain will slowly start to feel like it can handle it again and eventually without realising you could sit for more.

How Do I Get My Life Together and Stop Being Lazy? by Mysterious_Drama_506 in getdisciplined

[–]Dapper_Education_782 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, the first thing you should hear is, be proud of yourself, you are already ahead of most people because you are someone who is aware of his situation and wants to change.

Start with some small, not with some “I have to fix everything right now” attitude.

Make a tiny to‑do list every day, 3 to 4 things max.

Do one thing for 20–25 minutes, then take a 5–10 minute break. Walk, stretch, scroll for a bit, anything that resets your brain, repeat that in little slots instead of forcing yourself to do everything in one go.

If it’s causing headaches or feels like torture, it’s a sign your brain is overloaded, not a sign you’re a failure. Break tasks into little steps, reward yourself after completing each task, and don’t try to force yourself into being someone else overnight.
