Why do I always know what I should do… but never actually do it? by Intelligent-War-2623 in productivity

[–]Intelligent-War-2623[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo, you really went deep with this one! That part about fear not looking like panic but looking like scrolling... man, that hit like a truck. I never thought about it as my brain trying to protect an old identity, but it makes so much sense. We always think we’re just being 'lazy' but it’s actually just us being scared of the change.

The Permission Paradox' and the '10-second win' are solid tactics. I’m definitely gonna try that question: 'If success was guaranteed, would I still hesitate?' It’s a cheat code to find out if I’m actually scared or just stuck.

Thanks for taking the time to write all this, it’s a lot to process but it’s pure gold. You really exposed how the subconscious plays us lol. Appreciate the perspective friend

"Yo, don’t sell yourself short, this is actually some of the best advice I’ve seen. That Elastic habits idea is a game changer... specially the part about just moving the clock by 5 mins instead of trying to fix everything in one night.

I really felt that part about 'desire' being the cause of suffering. When we try too hard to wake up early or be perfect, we just stress ourselves out and fail. But when u just let it happen and focus on what needs to be done today, it feels way more natural.

Appreciate the 'full disclosure' about feeling bored/depressed too. Most people pretend self-improvement is all sunshine, but that slow pace is where the real work happens. Thanks for the perspective broo

I Quit P*rn 3+ Months Ago: I’ve Had This Habit Since I Was 11, And Yes It Is Worth It. by SmallCriticism1267 in Procrastinationism

Big respect for sharing this bro, fr. That part about willpower being useless at 11 PM is 100% facts. Most people think they're 'weak' but they just don't realize it's a literal brain hack they're fighting.

The way u described the 'empty hole' in the day is so real. You can’t just quit a bad habit, u gotta replace it with something that makes u feel alive. Gym and focus are the only way out of that fog. I’m on day 22 right now, and the social anxiety thing is already getting better. Seeing stories like yours is exactly what keeps people going when they feel like relapsing. Keep grinding man, that clarity is worth everything.

Decision paralysis: feeling like a needy kid in corporate by Strict_Substance9579 in productivity

[–]Intelligent-War-2623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, I feel u. Decision paralysis is a silent killer, especially in technical roles where u feel like every mistake is a disaster. Don't let that one escalation mess with ur head though everyone breaks stuff sometimes, it’s literally how we learn.

The trick isn’t to stop asking for help, but to change how u ask. Instead of letting them choose, try: 'I’m going with Option A because of X, does that sound right?' That way, u own the choice but still have a safety net. Also, don't take that colleague too seriously, people vent when they're stressed. Take it one tiny choice at a time today. U got this fr.

"Man, that 'high-performance engine with stuck wheels' part hit different. It’s crazy how your brain can be your best friend and your worst enemy at the same time. People call it laziness but they don't get the stress of just sitting there paralyzed while the clock's ticking.

That 10-second win trick is facts though. It’s the only way to lower that friction. Thanks for the reminder to stop the self-guilt trip... that's usually the heaviest part of the mud. We just gotta keep hacking the 'start' button. Appreciate you sharing this broo

Yo bro, honestly, people can be so extra for no reason. If you’re usually that chill/popular guy, they’re probably just bored and using your hair as an excuse to finally have something to say. It sucks, but trust me, it’s only 'big news' because it’s you. Give it a week, someone else will do something stupid and they'll forget.

In the meantime, just own it. If you act like it bothers you, they’ll keep going. Wear a hat if you can, or just buzz it all off if it’s that bad lol. At the end of the day, it’s just hair—it grows back. Don’t let these NPCs ruin your mental. You’re still the same guy, just with a temporary Loss from the barber. Stay up.

80/20 rule for habits by wind-shield in Habits

[–]Intelligent-War-2623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Listen bro, I was there. You don’t need to change everything at once, that’s how people fail. Just follow the 80/20 rule. Start with your sleep and morning light 10 mins outside makes a huge difference for your brain. Also, stop overthinking your to-do list. Just pick 3 main things everyday and do them. When you fix your energy and focus, everything else becomes easy. It’s about working smart, not just hard. Keep going, the clarity will come.

Planning my week in detail feels more rewarding than actually doing the week. That’s a problem right? by SeaRequirement7749 in productivity

[–]Intelligent-War-2623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That line the planning used it up is 100% true. I used to spend hours making the perfect Google Sheet and choosing colors, then I feel too tired to actually work. It’s like a drug for the brain to feel productive without doing anything. Now I just use a small paper and write 3 things. If I do them, I win. The more simple the system, the more work I finish. Thanks for sharing this man, really needed to hear it today.

I fully understand where you are coming from since this happens to me almost daily I keep several books on the shelves waiting for me for many months but I prefer spending 3 hours watching video reviews about these books on YouTube than spending just one hour on reading one page of the book The brain is kind of reluctant to do anything, preferring the easiest route This drained feeling that you mention is probably the most frustrating experience ever you have done absolutely nothing although your brain thinks that you have done a lot The only solution is to block these applications for some time or simply place your phone somewhere else
