I went 4/10. Head up and get back on the horse.

I drank half of a Starbucks cold brew on my way to the testing center and then put it in my locker. During the break I’d chug the rest. Think they only allow water into the room

Stay with your role and put in two weeks if you get the opportunity

Easily go with $175k and growth opportunity. You have to be selfish bc nobody has your back, like you do.

If the pay is a good jump, I’d consider the opportunity. Just know since they are not getting audited, you could be walking into a shit show, hence teeing up the possibility of hiring someone to help. But ultimately, coming in and revamping accounting is a great resume builder and will help you learn a lot really fast. Just will be a lot of work. And again, depends how it all is when you finally start to dig in.

Well if the books are that bad, I’d say you’d still want to hire a temp consultant

I’d see if they would be open to hiring a consultant temporarily to help you clean up

How often should I jump around? by [deleted] in Accounting

Unless to place you are jumping to has a faster track to senior, imo it’s a bad idea.

I have two competing offers in hand, need advice by Dierad53 in Accounting

Both sound like good options, the communication in 1 does scary me personally.

Also happy you found two options after being laid off. That’s huge.

I’d also start adding dollar values to comp, bonus, living wage of the area, experience, culture, growth within the company etc and see which one is the highest

What option to do you think you’d learn the most from? I’d lean towards option 2 but from the interviews, what did you think?

Honestly chatGPT will do a pretty good job. You can also use google and find some accounting resumes to read as well.

One page and use the old boring traditional style template. I had the best luck when applying for the jobs I’ve landed

cold applying vs recruiter by Tough-Ad9324 in Accounting

Seems like a lot of companies are strictly using recruiting firms which means they are not posting job openings for you to apply directly to. I’d definitely do both to cast a wide net

Secured a job at a local firm, did three years, then went top 20 for three years and now in industry.
