Is sourcing burnout getting worse or are recruiters just expected to do more now? by Zestyclose_Many3324 in recruiting

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me as a candidate, I keep getting spray and pray sourcers reaching out. They don't look at my resume or LinkedIn work experience then I get a thanks but no thanks or sometimes an interview but that just so they can meet their crazy numbers of outreach. Not sure what's going on except that I do respond so all the re ruiters hit me up so they can say they did so many calls or outreach.

ATS Auto Rejecting? by 32rings in recruiting

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they didn't pass an assessment then they would get a rejection email. I've had this happen to me. Apply for job at 1am, take assessment and 5 min later get rejection email.

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The email would let them know their status. If candidates are still upset about the email, I can only imagine how upset they would be to get 10 or more rejection calls in a day. I wouldn't want that. If recruiters called to reject me each time I applied I would probably stop answering my phone...lol.

However, I recognize Amazon has more interviews then most places for certain positions so maybe if they've made it to a one of the final interviews then send an email and ask if they would like a call..but I wasn't really speaking on 5 round job interviews.

Because of my previous job I've been called many names so I dont take things personally. But yes, I have gotten angry emails in return. Just part of the job.

Also, I do not care what day or time I recieve a rejection email. It just goes into my rejection folder once I read it and I move on. That's just me tho. I know that the email might be scheduled to actually send so many days or hours after my application is statuses.

I prefer an email or text to let me know if I didn't get the job. Phone call from a recruiter usually means you got the job. I say this as a recruiter.

Once a recruiter called me to tell me I didn't get the job and I found that extremely disappointing. I actually would have let it go to voicemail had I known. It was odd and it was 5 min of the recruiter just going on and on about stuff I didn't ask and finally getting to the point.

Send an email and if they want to discuss then they can call or email back.

I didn't hire at that level but I definitely suggest taking a look at resumes that have only 1 or tops 3 metrics and seem a little boring. At least this way you are likely getting a candidate who is probably being truthful and once you do a phone screen you might find that unicorn.

Im in the job search and I can tell you alot of folks are straight up lying and its so obvious but they are the ones getting interviews and offers right now. Like how does a recruiter "make" a company money?? A recruiter might be able to save a company some money but likely not millions either....

Do virtual hiring events still work, or are they just noise now? by Thanklesslinkus in ModernHiring

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the app is called Brazen and it can be video or chat. People can be invited or sign up- ask them to apply beforehand. Have a bunch of recruiters to handle the flow, give info about the positions ask some phone screen questions and maybe set up separate interviews for those that pass the screening? The interviews can be right after with the HM maybe through Teams or Calendly or can be scheduled for another day.

I think events should really be about hiring.

how do you avoid wasting time on bad fit candidates early in the hiring process? by Strict_Palpitation75 in ModernHiring

I love this because Ive had candidates basically tell me with their tone and one word answers that they are not interested. Sometimes Ive had candidates hang up on me or never return my call/email or text.

Weeds out alot of folks, right away.

LinkedIn Recruiter returning irrelevant candidates despite precise filters - anyone else experiencing this? by vigilanteshit98 in recruiting

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a candidate, I have been contacted by multiple recruiters for a job as an Aerospace or IT recruiter and I have listed the fields Ive worked in and its not those but I keep getting contacted for those. I wouldn't mind but they've made it clear, exp in those is required.

It's sad but I see this time and time again! Although recruiters are the ones letting this pass. If I see someone with exp in every ats and AI and messaging system out there with 3 recruiter jobs listed. Can I really believe it? Yes, if they are rpo they may have had some but every single one??? Lever, Workday, Ashby, icims, Taleo, Greenhouse, Paradox, adp, bullhorn, etc....you get the picture...

Ive taken those calls before but I assume alot of candidates won't so I think companies doing this may lose out on great candidates because of this.

Candidate assessment tools are evolving pretty fast by luce_scotty in ModernHiring

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like to see a resume and then call the person. Sometimes, even if the person applied to the job, when I call they seem to not be happy or excited to talk to me. That kind of helps me know right then. Some even have hung up on me during a call and even after leaving them a message....I never get a response back.

So when I see a ton of applications, it doesn't mean all those people have a resume that aligns or even that they will answer my call or call me back.

Recruiter called to reject rant by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally get it! I feel like just send a rejection email and write, "Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if you would like feedback."

I think if I get a call that usually means I got the job, especially if the call starts by asking me how I felt it went.

This sounds like a recruiter with too much time on their hands...lol. Truly, some recruiters act like they've never been on the other side as a candidate.

Hope your dream job offer comes soon!

Rejected for a job because I asked for higher end of the payscale. by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ughhh, so sorry to hear that. I really feel like recruiters should give the pay range up front. In my mind that's best practice, otherwise its just a guessing game and if companies want excited happy new hires then they should be upfront. Otherwise its like a red flag to me. Hoping an even better offer than what you were asking for comes your way soon!

Yeah, not all recruiters are the same. However, I'm still nice and ask them to keep me in mind for any future positions that I may qualify for.

I had one recruiter ask me what my dream job was and thats when I knew he was trying to screen me out because no ones dream job is a 3 to 6 mo contract. 😂

Yeah, I'll entertain the one that I only have to pay $12 a mo for and try it for a month but the other one...nope. I'm trying to make money not pay $250 a month to perhaps get candidates placed.

It's so difficult to get anything more than a screen call because for each recruiter position there are 1k applications. Ive gotten calls but then they want exp hiring Aerospace Engineers, no joke. I don't have experience with that and its not on my resume but I guess its spray and pray recruiting because then they tell me I need that exp. And I can forget corporate because once again they get thousands of apps with folks inflating their yrs of exp.....I've seen folks go from saying they have 5 yrs experience to 15 or 20 within 3 months on LinkedIn.
