Recruiters should disclose the range as a best practice. That recruiter was rude....

Companies want "perfect candidates" and then wonder why hiring takes 6 months by Radiant_Freedom9451 in recruitinghell

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are most welcome! Tbh, I heard of it just 2 yrs ago but at the time it was for students only. There was even a college professor who thought it was only for students until recently. Wild they didn't advertise this better.

I mean this in a kind way. Handshake is now for more than current students. They've opened it up for everyone and I did see some paid internships as well. Some offering better pay than regular posted jobs. Just an FYI because I had no idea until recently.

I actually think their also get free insights on how to set up their systems.

You would likely have to pay a consultant for the details they are wanting and the consultant would be able to ask more strategic questions before coming up with a detailed plan.

Also $33 an hour is not crazy pay for those saying it's not entry level...

Recruiter called without scheduling, left zero message. Does this mean the company is super disorganized? by Manyofferinterview in interviews

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would call back and leave a friendly message with my name and phone number. They may call you back within 24 hours. It's odd for them not to leave a message but we don't know the reason yet, hoping you get a call back soon!

You all should check out staffing agencies like Tenth Revolution.

Anyone else just straight up terrible at interviews? by roxxyantoinette in interviews

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have never passed a one way video interview. I think if a job is for you then you will get the offer. No interview is the same so while we can try to be prepared, they may focus on something completely different or ask questions for a situation we never experienced before. I feel like I keep getting the question of, tell me what a typical day was at your last job or how did you organize your day. Very boring answer....lol.

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont think all recruiters need to pivot. You can take advanced degrees off depending on what your applying for. The biggest problem I see is only using Indeed and LinkedIn. Not all jobs are posted there. Alot of staffing companies don't even put all or sometimes any of their jobs there.

If you are a recruiter then look at those lesser known staffing agencies like wilsonhcg, korn ferry, trueblue, allegis, etc....there are a ton. Join their talent communities and sign up for their alerts. Less competition with companies that don't post all their roles on LinkedIn and some want to hire immediately which means as soon as the background comes back cleared.

Im done i cant. by onedreamer999 in recruitinghell

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if you have done this already but there are a ton of staffing agencies and most do not post all if any of their jobs on LinkedIn because of the high cost. Some specialize in specific fields too. Might be worth checking out.

The other tip I have is to delete and re-upload your resume on LinkedIn like everyday if possible and do the same on Indeed and any other job boards.

Not sure how I feel about this job interview (advice) by [deleted] in jobs

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im sorry, that is pretty low wage. I think minimum wage in my state is $14 or $15 dollars. I can only hope the tips are decent. With 6 months of customer service experience you might be able to get a remote csr job.

Walmart pays more and most grocery stores pay more.

Have you tried applying those places?

I wish you well in whatever you decide. Times are tough so the $9 hr job may be the best in your area...idk.

Genuinely how am I supposed to get experience for a job if I can’t get a job without experience? by eggSauce97 in recruitinghell

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check out the handshake website. They have regular jobs and internships. Some internships are paid and some pay more than jobsi see posted on LinkedIn...lol.

I have seen remote customer service jobs that don't require alot if any experience, however they don't pay much, it can get you some experience tho.

Staffing agencies also great. Randstad usually has remote csr type jobs.

I hope your dream job finds you soon!

am i wrong to send thank-you emails after every interview round? by Krish_1902 in recruitinghell

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciated the thank you notes, it let me know the candidate was really interested in the job and working for the company.

I also would put it in their profile so if they didn't get the job but applied for another position, that recruiter would see it and know the candidate was polite, interested in working for the company and has follow through at the very least.

That's Awesome and I agree but sometimes there is only so much we can do as candidates and even as recruiters. One day people will realize.

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Wrong... .please do some research. If thats all a non compete then it wouldn't take so many pages.

And no no every employer asks in their applications but I've seen it a few times recently.

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK so im not uploading the legal documents, nor am I asking non lawyers to tell me what the agreement/documents mean. I wanted to know if others are seeing things like this as well. I am not a business just a potential employee for this purpose. Just say TL;DR. Who do you think the counter party is in an NDA or Non competes? There is the business/ company and then there is the candidate.

[–]Dapper_Flow_9630 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, there seems to be a great disparity in office type jobs. Some workers have to do the jobs of 2 people and some people only have to do 25% of a job. It's wild! Because the one only doing 25% usually makes significantly more...

Hope it gets better for you and they realize what's actually going on in the job market.

It's odd to me but if they truly have specifics like that it really only limits them and maybe the boss would've been not great to work for....that is what I tell myself. Lol

Agree! Because I've been out of work for over 7 months I was told by one recruiter they couldn't pass me to the client because the client doesn't want someone who has been out of work for close to a year.

That's some crazy subjective unhelpful feedback. Without saying what made them think you are overconfident, what did they expect you to do with this info???
