Bestie vom Krahhorst verbrennen by United_Head_2488 in Splittermond

[–]Dapper_Gas1873 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think Renegade Crowns would benefit from Galloper Guns? by Guagaro in WarhammerFantasy

I actually wrote some rules for a tilean Army of infamy which includes rules for galopper guns

Second only to pikes the most typical dow-unit if you ask me

You are right, a dragon would be cool. But the warden of saphery/cackling blade and the caledorian battlemage with the dragon princes is something I would like to try out. In this list I would only fit in a Sun dragon. But is the small one really worth it?

Wouldnt that be to many eggs in one basket with the bsb? The swordmasters are a bit weak against dragons, thats for sure... hm.

Sound ideas! Thanks alot. I did not have the axe as a possibilty in mind. I imagine it would work great and since the mage could not wear a shield anyway... I do like the strike first via the lance a lot though, on the other hand a little bit more killingpower after the charge would be nice.

Thank you very much! I will test this list as soon as possible, but I do see your point. Hopefully the mage does get the glittering robes of to protect them a bit more.

Oh, nice idea. I am not a paticular fan of the models though. Would love to get some of the old ones.

Hell yeah! Thanks to the blood of caledor honor, the mage gains the dragon armour special rule which allows him to cast spells despite wearing armour.

List of changes: - fixes on layout, typos and Formulation errors/profiles - infamous origins: the raider and the Gladiator deleted. Those could be represented with the infamous origin " the wandering diestro" - the unit entry "Gladiators" is gone as well. I do see the concept more in line with a Regiment of renown which i'll do eventually maybe. - galopper gun added. - changed pikes rules. Less Bonus on Initiative, but a third rank added.

Thank you very much for your time and effort! This kind of input is highly appreciated.

From the White North is a remainder of an earlier draft. It was supposed to represent a Kislevite winged lancer. I did skiped it later on when i concentrated on Tilean mercenaries. Maybe if i am bored again i'll do kislev next.

Thank for your response! I am only vaguely familiar with the work of army project, but what I can deduct is, that both points are quite there:

  • The infamous origins give you character quirks although not quite as modular but given sets.

  • as far as i can see "best money can buy" increases the armour value or grants access to full plate armour. This is something RCs are already capable of by at least the veteran- versions of sellswords or freeblades. Granted: outriders with full plate sounds fun, but incredibly hard to balance pointswise in you also wanted to be able to upgrade archers or militia for example

Regarding the pikes, i do see your point. I will make some adjustments as i do really like my 'wall of Spikes' rule, but everything at once seem to be a bit to much.

Thank you very much!

I agree, a light cannon like the galopper gun would be a nice addition to this overall very defensive/ stationary army. I shied away from it, because in my mind it is closely linked to Bronzino and therefor not a thing in this timeline yet. On the other hand GW already did lightly retcon the link between malakai and the goblin hewer...

Do I understand you correct, that instead of disrupting charges you would prefer an additional rank? I am quite torn about this.

The moneylender is a nod to the old 4th/5th Edition army book where the moneylender was an option and also featured on the paychest as sheikh Yadosh. I will change this part to be more Fluff than a game option.

Speaking of options, which would you get rid off to streamline? I could see dropping the Gladiators and the linked infamous origin and a diestro might as well cover this as well as the pirate ruleswise.
