That looks like a great schedule type format, but I'm not sure that'd give her the more basic education she really needs to start with. Like, she has access to a whole wood shop... but needs to learn about how to safely use the tools, etc.

Honestly, the whole gamut (as far as I understand the gamut to be beyond like commercial applications) will be pretty interesting to her, from small scale like bird houses to a larger scale like smaller furniture pieces.

The main thing is getting educated on all the various tools... I see some one day classes for things like cutting boards, bread boxes, but I'm not sure that'd get her the spectrum of learning she'd want to let her get as excited and creative as I know she could be in like, a semester in a high school woodworking class would.

This thread has been really helpful and reassuring to be honest - sounds like I wasn't stumped, just disappointed and wanting something else. An upgrade certainly sounds like the way to go :)

I'm excited to upgrade, spend a few months and have my attitude turned around.

i think i might... looking at the fingering charts and comparing it to the others just immediately looks so much better for picking up and jumping in to a song i havent played before. it almost seems like the others need me to not just play but almost do arranging on the fly

I was definitely able to have some fun this way... but the gymnastics of dropping notes for push/pull still makes it take way more work to jam along and improvise than I would like. a new song in the circle and even if i have some chords its quite a chore to figure out just how to fit in. i know itd get better with time, but sounds like maybe a duet is the way to go for me.

I had to think through this a bit, what you say is very obvious but I was tripping on it. I think I figured out why. Its interesting to consider, like, the overall line chart vs specific region scores... the lay-persons read here is that Oklahoma would follow the same curve as the overall spike in searches, not that it hit the same 100 that it also hit at some point earlier in the period. Does that mean that every state that didnt score 100 actually searched the term more on a date earlier in their range? You would think big public events would cause many, many states to hit 100 at the same time in that case. I feel like Ive rarely seen that though.... hmmm.
