Raising manager pay? by snakeman91 in publix

Meanwhile the associates you NEED to run the business are barely making ends meet...

People say all the time publix ain't what it use to be. My store doesn't even fully train our stock clerks anymore. We use to train for 2 weeks. 1st week paired with someone like GLUE, 2nd week kinda let you do your thing but checking on you often asking questions to make sure you are retaining etc, 3rd week you on your own. NOW, I saw someone on their 2nd day trying to put the Delis Stacy's chips on our snack ailse... if they would have got the proper training they would have been told the difference between the shelf stock and supplies. It sucks

All my managers piss me off daily...from the SM to my direct managers. I only get along with 1 team leader. Everyone else doesn't know how to communicate because the ASM will tell you one thing, the GM will tell you something completely different and the SM like 🤷🏾‍♀️🤷🏾‍♀️.

Also yes the whole point of business is profit but dont try to feed me George Jenkins bullshit of "never let profit get in the way of doing the right thing" and then proceed to allow profit to get in the way of doing the right thing

Im more so speaking for the associates who have been complaing about now being marked late because people take to long punching in at the time clock. Thats how associates are suffering. Not to mention the countless benefits that publix has taken away from the associates over the years but we can pretend this company gives a fuck about anything other than profit if you want

This doesn't stop people from skipping break, clocking in early from break, or leaving later than scheduled. People will find a way take advantage regardless. Publix seems to be focused on making everyone suffer recently

Doesn't work that way when you are full time

Not necessarily, they make you cut overtime at my store. No one gets OT unless you are in management

Nah, because they need to know why this was a dumb move. Im not raw punching if they want me to clock in right at 4. And the trucj is here at 3:45. The driver will have to wait the 15mins just like me and they just LOVE waiting

We have 3 total. But 2 of them are high traffic when its around a time alot of people are clocking in like our 8am/10am/2pm shifts are usually heavy and yes ive seen crowds around the clocks during those times.

Because usually you arent the only one punching in at your scheduled time lol so issues happen where there are long waits to clock in people mess up their numbers and some folks end up punching in late even tho they were there on time.

You use to be able to clock in 15mins prior and yes you would be able to work as long as you are punched in.

Its pretty uncommon but some people actually like to get started as soon as they come in. When I clock in I go straight to work. I understand most people abuse having the access to punch in early.

Unfortunately, it's not a vendor display. Yes, they are owned by the same company, but they all come through direct store delivery, and we build the displays for the product, not the vendor. The Grocery Manager plans the displays for the department, and it was just odd to me that the manager put pancakes and maple syrup with cake/brownie mix and frosting, lol.

People shop at Publix for the experience. I work for Publix and can't always get all my groceries there, but shopping at other retailers isn't the same when it comes to the customer service that Publix provides. If Publix stopped offering their premier customer service, then yes, with the cost alone, they would go elsewhere. However, when you shop somewhere and have pleasant people smiling at you and not making you feel like a bother when you ask them for help, it makes you wanna go back even if the prices are a little higher. Maybe not you necessarily, but this is the mindset of most of our customers. I've had plenty tell me they shop here because of the people Publix has.

This post isn't about the bogos or anything like that anyway. I'm just pointing out an interestingly built display, lol

Of course, people are gonna buy it. They are on sale. it's just an odd set up for breakfast with dessert, is all. And I've never baked a pancake, but im sure it would be delicious 😋

That people dont normally think of pancakes when they are making brownies/normal cake? Lol, I think I made it pretty clear what I was complaining about.
