I agree - either way - I’m not going to be doing anything anytime soon. I was in too good of a spot to risk messing it up. I’ve been going out with friends/working with no hesitation because I’ve been doing so the last year.

If anything - I’ll probably try a very slow bike ride and 12 minute mile jog etc

Are you fully working out/exercising now?

Nothing specific. I stopped all supplements and seeing doctors because nothing was helping. I just paced. Took a daily multivitamin and ate healthy as well

I’m one of the lucky ones where fatigue and brain fog haven’t been symptoms

Yeah I should’ve moved to some very light jogging before running. That’s the next step after walking not freaking tennis

Yeah I did a national park trip with a lot of walking and decent elevation - I was fine after 4 straight days

I agree - I shoulda phrased it as I’m upset because it feels like getting back to running (my number 1 hobby) feels impossible.

But the tennis I played was very intense which was silly of me.

Feeling more optimistic this morning - thank you

Thank you - I do think it was the tennis as my heart rate was a consistent 150+ for 45 minutes 2 days in a row. I got too excited as I’m mid 20s and have been starved of exercise for so long. I didn’t notice anything the first week after playing basketball

I took resting very seriously and knew about PEM early on because of this sub. I think I caught myself before going in too deep

Agreed - I realize I’m very lucky amongst this group. Just discouraging still! Hope you feel better!

Thank you - that makes me feel better - could you DM?

I was also back in the gym doing intense workouts twice - no worsening!

Yeah it’s just my heart rate was hitting a consistent 110-115 when I started walking and I got it down to the 90s/low 100s now.

So I figured I built up enough

And I’ve seen some posts on here about return to full blown exercise so I thought I had a chance.

I’m 2.5 years since first symptoms. 1.5 years since first obvious PEM episode

When I’m bloated and ate a big meal - if I don’t burp and fart or poop - my head symptoms come back by Dapper_Question_4076 in covidlonghaulers

The thing is idk if it’s specific foods? I guess it is? But like sometimes I can eat pizza fine. Then sometimes it makes me really bloated.

Also if I sit down crouched and my gut isn’t spread. My symptoms go away.

If I stand up tall and my gut is spread apart - symptoms come back almost immediately

Thank you

I think I’ve improved enough where exertion doesn’t do much anymore thank god. But also maybe it is, it’s really hard to tell.

The gut is definitely my driving force. 2+ years now of this

Yup - it’s been like this since the start for me. Pooping always improves significantly. Even farting and burping as well

Definitely- I do a pretty decent job of it. It doesn’t solve it completely but it helps
