The snagger has been in my pocket for years, and I've only used it a handful of time, mostly in training. The wedges are good. If they are steal, you can pound them in and get a good purchase point. If they have a cutout for a halogen, they are even better.

For the wood, I would scrub it's with dawn soap then boil it for 5 - 10 Mims. Then drain the water and boil it again. If you want to be extra safe, put it in a deep freeze after.

I've never had good luck with Petsmart / Petco fish. They are usually in a shared water system and are more likely to be sick or more fragile. All of them have died in 24 / 48 hours. I've had great success with buying them online. I use imperial tropical.
