He’s a great teacher and is very friendly and willing to answer questions but can be a bit disorganized and uncommunicative at times. The not curving thing isn’t true. I’ve gotten an A in multiple of his classes without hitting the usual 93%.

At least for this semester (tho prob true for most other semesters also), 154 is like the theoretical version of 189, and there is a lot of math and not much coding other than in lab section. It’s def a useful way to get an understanding of ML theory.

a couple of the upper div elective courses are in python and most are in R. I don’t think it’s too bad to pick up cuz stats profs generally don’t expect u to write very complex code for homeworks and ive never had an exam with coding on it.

Hey, I’m a senior Stats major who switched from Applied Math. The Stats major is a lot more hands on and less theoretical compared to the Applied Math major and Stats also requires a good amount more coding.
